Who are the big tough teams at 10u level A?? are there any?

by prdpop » Sat Apr 30, 2011 8:32 pm

Good softball played at Midwest today! Heat and PC Pride both looked strong all day. Matoon avg team, but 1 very good pitcher. Crown Point looked good, but lost to Heat in 1st Bracket game. Gators had tough day in field lost to Matoon in 1st Bracket. Looked like Heat and PC pride were gunning for #1 seeds in pool and got them. Matoon did not through best pitcher in pool and took 3 seed. Gators won first pool vs Valpo and then pitched #3 and #4 pitchers vs Heat in pool and lost.

Pool A
1. PC Pride-very solid team!
2. Crown Point-looked very solid from what i saw
3. Matoon- avg hitting and D, but top pitcher will keep them in a lot of games

Pool B
1. Heat-struggled vs Valpo, but won then very solid
2. Gators 2001-Did not play well all day, looked like it had been a while since they played, but looks like they are right there w/ the others.
3. Valpo-can't compete w/ the rest, but pretty solid 10U B team

Even though only 6 teams, one of the best 10U tournaments i've seen as far as talent. Would've liked to have seen Xtreme there too! Someone post results of this one as I wont make it tomorrow. My guess PC Pride.

Good luck to all!

PC Pride the best of the bunch.
CP - missing players - good coaching
Mattoon - good team - had trouble throwing strikes
Heat - Coaching will hold this team back
Gators - dido with the heat.
Valpo - need a couple more hitters.

Thank you Riseball, but from our seat we got some good experience for a young team this weekend and were able to pitch some girls who have not had many innings and were able to move some girls to different positions. Although we had a tough weekend after two weeks off and a couple key players hurt/sick, we had a good weekend experience wise. We are into bigger things than winning right now. All six teams at Midwest had some very good talent! Wish the weather could've been better!

Anyway.......hahaha back to the main point, THE GIRLS of the Indiana Heat won the Worth tournament 7-1 against PC Pride.

Thanks,

Absolutely!! It was great to play a weekend of competitive softball for all of the girls. Every at bat, every out, every runner was critical to winning or losing. I think most of the teams grew quite a bit this weekend by playing tough competition and realizing that every pitch could be the difference between winning or losing.

To the PC Pride's coaches credit, they chose to not play an "if" game due to the weather delays and long drive home. They put us in the losers bracket and when we met them at home plate for the championship, their coaches came to home plate saying winner takes all for the championship. They are a great group of coaches and very professional, as were all of the teams this weekend in my opinion.
