Who are the big tough teams at 10u level A?? are there any?

by choppertwohopper » Thu Apr 21, 2011 10:07 am

Way to go, Bake! To all others, quit pretending and start contending! Look at the big picture, past the trophies and ribbons! You may be the best in your little world but how about looking outside. You Indy teams have difficulty playing the Illinois teams. How about starting there! I believe only the NWI Sox and Xtreme and playing in Illinois this year. With that being said, at least they know where some competition is, other than around Indy. There are some real good teams in the State of Indiana. But there are many more great teams outside of it! Bake, has the right idea of going to play the best in the country and that is the ASA National in Johnson City. Those of you who are critical to this idea are just ignorant to the fact. Look beyond the tips of your noses!

Care to elaborate?

All I can say is I have heard people talk about this team since they were in 8u (under a different name). They tended to travel around from tournament to tournament playing B level teams and running up scores. Never knew the rules, but always argued everything. Came off beyond cocky, actually more abrasive would be the term. If that is their presentation now I can see why no one would want to go to their tournament. Just what I have heard though ;)

From Bake:
"What makes you think that the most important thing in our season is to go to Indy and play in one of these tournaments, the reason we are going to Martinsville tournament is because it's a USA/ASA National Qualifier DUH!!!! I HOPE YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS!!!!! but just in cause you don't!!! it means if you win a bid there you get to go and play in the BEST 10u TOURNAMENT IN THE COUNTRY DUH!!!!"

Bake-really? You say you already have a bid to play ASA so why travel to this tournament which will most likely get cancelled cause hardly no one plays 10U ASA in Indiana.
Did the ASA State games get cancelled last year at the 10U level?
So, take up the challenge and drive about 50 miles less and play an NSA tourney (if there is one that weekend) with some of the tougher teams.

Calling it the best 10U tournament in the country might be a little over the top. I understand your loyalty to ASA but definitely not at 10U. It's just a fact. DUH!!!

Why all the talk about ASA and NSA in 10u? Where does USFA tournaments rank among all of you "rookies" and "vets"?

OK, I confess, I frequent a lot of these types of boards more or less for entertainment. And I've got to say, I've gotten my money's worth out of this thread, it just keeps getting better and better!

Good teams can't find anyone to play and bad teams run around looking for the weakest tournaments just to get trophies.

Thank goodness my daughters are out of that watered down, trophy hunting 10U age group.

the way we EARNED our bid has not changed!!!!

don't we all wish the rec players would go back to rec and more than half the Teams would fold.

This team's coaches won't even come down and play the toughest teams in central Indiana.

First of all MR COACH you ain't ever SHUT ME UP, I respond when I feel like responding, who the _ _ _ _ do you think you are!!!

Just a few random excerpts from the last couple of days in this thread. I have to keep telling myself this is a 10U thread........all this thread needs at this point is for JJ to point which of his disciples play for which team, that will ultimately determine who the REAL Big Tough Team at 10U Level A is!

I think this question is virtually impossible to answer until you see who actually makes it to Nationals and wins it.

Calling it the best 10U tournament in the country might be a little over the top??

It will be 100 times better than the NSA "B" "National" or as it should be called, Indy's "best" invite most of you guys are playing in!!

Hey Bake, When you get to indy, hit me up on here and we can throw back a few!! Oh wait, you better PM me so nobody get's mad!!

That would be a conversation to hear.

Looking in - "Bake, do you know everything about softball."
Bake - "absolutely, not only that. I help Gore invent the internet, and coined the phrase global warming."
Looking in - "whoa Bake that is impressive!"
Bake - "Thanks, I also hear you are the foremost authority on the game of Fastpitch"
Looking in - "Yep, I actually started fastpitch in Indiana, and the quality has suffered severely since I got out of it."

That is followed by a bunch of back slapping, noogies, and wedgies. They might have also solved the age old question.

How does lent get in your bellybutton? (there will be power point presentation at the press conference tomorrow).
