Let's see if I could put together a best of the best of kids that are eligilbe to play 16u around here I think I would start with say a pitching staff of maybe Osborn and Lewis and Flak maybe talk to Thomas and Brook from Troy's team as well to keep arms fresh. Catchers of Kail and Bell. First base: Lawson or Harrison who can also catch or play 3rd. Say Brannick at 2nd, Wilson at SS. Outfield of maybe an Overstreet, Shaffer, Rager, Barker and throw in a couple of other quality utility players who my old brain have left out and go see how deep we could go in South Dakota. Maybe call them the DreamWaveXtremeTeamINChillMagic92.

Use the 2 lefty slappers to bat 1st and 9th and then let the rest of them draw a number out of the hat for where they will hit in that particular game and let them crush it.

Every kid that I have listed with maybe the exception of two is already playing 18u gold, 18u and has been playing at a high level or playing up for several years. Most also have college deals either done or close to done.

And oh by the way I forgot the 16u Magic Gold as a frontrunner in my list of teams as well to qualify.

The only downside to this team would be having to throw them wiffle balls in pregame warmups. I am sure a few welts and bruises would occur but if would be fun to watch them play together.

bucketboy you would have a very powerful team with that group of girls...who is Morgan Lewis playing travel ball for this year? Here is a question for you Canocorn(my source for inside info) or anyone with an opinion, which team is the best Gold Team in Indiana this year?

Silverado the question is who's attitude has runied the chemistry. The kids or the parents attitude? In my humble opinion the issue usally lies on the side of the parent and not the kid.


Gold teams in Indiana: Craig's Dreams, Magic Gold, Team Indiana Gold. With Chanda pitching I give the edge to the best of those 3 to the Dreams this summer.

Morgan is playing for the Xtreme 91 again this year as she did last.

bucketboy, thanks for the info on Lewis...Xtreme91 is a team we have not seen this year, so I was not sure she was still playing for them...I agree with your rankings on the Gold teams...Bell probably gives Dreams a bit of an edge this year...plus, I had heard Esparza was nursing a shoulder injury, although she is back to pitching.

I forgot about Osborne, she is still 16u eligible. Definately a starter. Flak, I don't think she is still eligible (could be wrong, I'll call Dennis), same with Morgan Lewis. Overstreet is a Junior, as is Rager -do they have 92 bday? I wouldn't take Brook from Troy, I would take Brit from Akadema better pitcher, better player. I forget about Bell, yep have her catch. I would take 9 Harrison's - great kid, and will knock your teeth out hitting the ball, plus she can catch, 1st or 3rd. I would take Meidinger at 2nd, fearless, good power and great speed, and team player. Fuller/Hart at SS, Schaffer? or Barker? I think I know them but not for sure. What about Conger (Magic, 92 bday) pitching also. Or the SS for HSE (Shockwaves 18u) she is slick, Laughlin batted almost .500 as a freshman on HSE until her injury late in the year. The Fire93 have very good CF also, along with their catcher. I am assuming you are talking about Alicia at SS, to be frank, there are probably 10 or more that are better, including the Laughlin girl already at HSE.

This is like fantasy football... We need to get a life.

All I mentioned are 92 birthdays and are still 16u age eligible except for a couple that are 93's and of course they are only first year 16u players by age and can play next year at 16u if they so desire. The ss I am taking is a 92 from Whiteland and Team IN not the one you mentioned.

I have either coached them personally or against them for many years now so if you wanted a fantasy 16u team I am taking mostly juniors that have played up in their careers against the best competition.

Maybe we need to hire the commish of the more taste leage since football season will be over and have a draft for the fantasy league so at least we can have something productive to keep us occupied from March till the first of June while high school ball is going on.

If nothing else it would give us softball nazi's a reason to get together and have a few cold ones a few times a year.

Canocorn, I agree with the reasons for a 16u player/team moving up...now I might take some exception with saying these teams can beat all but a couple of 18s...we played the Dreams 16u team(which according to a previous thread might have been a combo team with another Dream team) and we beat them pretty easily(we were without a couple of starters, and we could have played 16u this year)...I am in no way doubting the talent of girls at 16u or overall team talent at 16u but I would not be so quick to dismiss 18u talent...Team Indiana Blue along with Diamond Chix have some players and these are just a couple teams we have faced in the fall/winter.

Sorry I got carried away about the 18u comment. You are right, Chix and TI are very good teams, and didn't mean to short change them.

We know Flak, and just never realized she had a late birthday. Same with Rager. I stand corrected. I would obviously take them as well as Morgan in heartbeat. With Morgan as number 1, then Osborne and Flak as the closer. Osborn and Morgan can hit also, Flak is Pitcher only.

In the first round of the 2009 16u draft will be.......pitcher from......, Indiana.

Nope, not on troy's team! DD's team, we have 6 girls with 93 bdays and they are all freshman! must be nice to be in the "know" so well, to know what all these teams are going to do next year when this year has hardly started!

Its not about knowing what they are all doing. All it is, is common sense. Uh, lets think this out, Troy's Shockwaves have played 2 years at 16u. So let me go out on a limb, I think they will move to 18's next year. I can see the conversation between Troy and Jim: "Hey Jim, we have played two years at 16u and have won a lot, but you know, just for #$ts and giggles, lets play a 3rd year at 16u and see if we can go indefeated." Same with Chix, Akadema, and Gators.

You are obviously not following the concept of birthdays as it relates to their class or else you wouldn't have said we have 6 freshman that are 93's. They are supposed to be 93's. 92's are Soph and so on. jeez o'pete..you are killin' me.
