It was a slow weekend at SZ...only 4 teams and only a 12U, so they went double elimination all day Saturday. The 4 teams were Kenosha Cyclones, Plainfield Rage, Gators 99 and a split squad of the 2 Xtreme 12U teams.

Xtreme only played Gators (3x) and Cyclones (4x). I can't remember all of the exact scores, but Xtreme beat Gators all 3 times, lost the first 2 against Cyclones 2-3 and 0-4, but then forced an IF game with a 7-0 win and then won the tournament 5-3. I think the Gators only played Rage and Xtreme, but I could be wrong.

Should be a pretty good round robin in Crown Point this Saturday if the weather holds off. Oak Park (Ziegler), Compuware 98, Extreme 98 and the Bulldogs 98. I believe the 14's will be playing a round robin out there also. Not sure which teams will be there for the 14U RR.

It was a great day in Crown Point. First of all, I have to thanks the CP coaches for getting enough field ready to play. They were perfect at 8p Friday night when they left...then more rain came. These guys were there at 4:30a to start working and worked up until game time getting them prepaired.

Crown Point went 3-0, Indiana Xtreme 2-1, Oak Park Windmills 1-2 and Compuware 0-3. Good competition and a good time. Thanks again to CP for putting that on.

On the 14U side, I only saw CP and Dreams playing. Not sure who the other 2 teams were, or how any of the games went.

What's the skinny on the Shelbyville tourney. Who beat who? Which teams looked good?

I know we took 3rd (Team Nike) in a tough loss to Team Indiana. International Tiebreaker 3-2

TI and Indiana Diamonds were in the championship game, but I don't know the final outcome. Will post when I do.

Diamonds had an ace pitcher with a wicked rise-ball and a lot of junk. Not top notch heat, but excellent locations. Team was solid all the way around, IMO.

We were down to nine.....short a key player/hitter this weekend. Heard from two people that Team Indiana picked up a pitcher that won't be playing with them in June/July. Don't know that for a fact, though.

Team Nike won at HSE two weeks ago. So, we had the thrill of victory and went to the agony of defeat.

Not much to say about the other teams other than they were okay. I was really disappointed in what I saw from Compuware. I was expecting more.
Gator's 99 give more than what I expected. They've got a lot of potential!!

Word on the street here in socal is that Firecrakers 98 is having a visiting player next weekend at the Mothers Day Classic tourney. Apparently, the # 1 pitcher from Lady Lasers is coming out to play for them. How about that one? :o

I hope it's not an ASA sanctioned event. If i remember correctly, lasers could lose her for nationals for being on 2 ASA rosters!???! I could be wrong though, for the first time!

It wouldn't surprise me if it's the one whose older sister plays for Lady Lasers Gold 96 - she played with Firecrackers-AZ (fka AZ Stealth) over the Winter.

It's not an ASA sanctioned event. Even if it was, it would have to be Championship Play to be an issue.

Bumping the 12u thread to the top. I'll give the 10u thread an hour, tops, to take the #1 spot.

Seriously, though...it's like pulling teeth to get anyone to discuss the 12u's. What's up with that??
We've got 50+ 12u teams in Indiana it seems. WAYYYY too watered down. Too bad there can't be a limit set on the number of teams.
