This is a 10U thread right? We're talking about 10 and 11 year old girls right?

The Worth tournament doesn't have any teams registered at the 12u level. If the Xtreme have pulled out at the 10u level, then only six teams remain. Doesn't seem like a bad idea to switch tournaments to me. To each their own....no reason to be condescending about it.

To be the best you gotta play the best. The best teams at the 10U level will be at Worth tournament and then the Xtreme remove theirselves last minute after the HSE tournament. I think the coaches know they may had a very lucky draw at the HSE tournament and the Heat and Gators beat up on each other (with the Heat missing two impact players). Call it what it is, they are leaving an A competition tournament to go to a B tournament. All teams in the Worth tournament will come away better teams because of playing better competition. Xtreme will not improve over that weekend.
I am shocked to see a team run from competition personally. Sorry, not a team, but coaches run from competition.
My admiration for Xtreme just went down a bit.
The Gators and Heat will continue to gel and improve and one of them will be the top team by the end of the year.
Xtreme is 2-4 vs. Heat and the Heat are only getting better
Gators are 1-3-1 vs. Heat
Gators are 2-3 vs Extreme and the Gators are only getting better

Edge? Where are you?
Magic? Where do you play?

Looks like the Gators and Indiana Heat don't hide from competition. And that is my view from the outside looking in just in case you care (you probably don't but oh well) :D

Jeremy B. --->Will the Xtreme coaches vacate the NSA A State tournament also?

They couldn't hit or field anything. At one point it looked like their infielders just quit going after the balls. I hope it was just an off day cause they are a fun team to play but have to admit even funner to beat.

I don't see Crown Point coming to NSA A State this year either..... Anyone know why?

Coach...
I also believe that playing the best makes you better. I don't dispute that. However, other aspects come into play, sometimes, when determining where to play. That's all I'm saying. My dd's team/coaches like to face the best competition, as well. There have been and will be times that we don't, though. For example, a benefit tournament where proceeds are going to a cause that we all want to support. Or financial reasons....which is why most Indiana teams in the younger age divisions play in Indiana or a neighboring state. Many of us could face better competition in Cali or Texas, but play here. My dd's team could've found better competition than HSE this past weekend by expanding our stomping grounds to the west coast, but we didn't. That doesn't mean we don't want to play the best. It's all about balancing your schedule to meet the wants/needs of the families on your team. Pleasing outsiders isn't our goal and I'm sure it isn't the Xtreme's. I'm not associated with the Xtreme, either, just in case you're wondering. No hard feelings intended, whatsoever. Just food for thought.

@Coach, it's obvious you're trying to get a bite out of that bait you're hanging in the water. No thanks, I'll pass.

@fastpitchfanatic, you're exactly right on the money!

This is getting toooo personal! To me, looks like there will be very good games all year between Heat, CP, Gators01, Xtreme, and I hear that NWI Sox can compete too. Other than these teams and maybe Hoosier Crush, doesn't look like anyone else can compete. (Maybe Edge, but looks like they are trying to avoid these teams)
The question I want to put out is who will compete with Gators 2001 next year? If they are right there with the 2000 teams and have 7-8 girls back, who will be there to push them next year? Looks like a very competitive 10U this year! I wonder if any other teams will be able to get in the discussion by the end of this year?

Sox are good, for sure. Gators will be scary next year.

Let's keep true perspective here. These are 10 year old girls. Let's try and remember to keep the focus on the girls and try and leave alot of this animosity and "word baiting" to a different forum or venue. Last I checked, we are supposed to be the adults here.
