I do find entertainment in reading all of the parents posts on here, but let's all keep 2 things in mind. Number 1 these are 10y/o girls and they will have MANY ups and downs. 2. At 16U/18U they will still have MANY ups and downs!!!!!!
To answer the question of who/where we (Gators 2001) have played this winter. We have played at SportZone Indy all winter, last year we played all but 1 tournament at SportZone Indy. We are based in Indianapolis and will continue to play most/all of our Indoor at SportZone Indy. If we travel to Lafayette parents have to stay in hotels and drive there. We already have enough "travel" trips booked and we don't need anymore. We have been to Cincinnati in the Fall and will be going again April 15. Teams there will be: Gators 2001, Lady Lasers Green, Ohio Hawks 01, Liberty Blazers, Cincy Doom, Buckeye Heat 01 Gill, Ohio Storm 01, Ohio Stingray's, and Marion Diamonds 01. 7 of these are top 10 teams in OH as ranked by coaches of 10U teams.
We are working on a friendly in Champaign, IL area for April 22, but seems to be falling through. I have been in contact with Triple Crown Xtreme and a few others about setting up a friendly for that weekend. Hope we can get something together. These are a great way to get all pitchers some innings in a game situation and get girls some time in different postions while seeing solid teams.
April 28 we will be in Louisville, KY for a 4 team friendly with Gators 2001, Team Worth 01 (TN), Ohio Stingray's (OH), and Bluegrass Blaze (KY). Should be a lot of fun!!!!!!!

As you will see, we have a total of 7 "hotel trips." This is why we don't travel in the Winter!!!!!!! If anyone is looking to host something on the weekend of April 22, we are willing to play. I will end by saying that we have a good team, great girls, and great parents. We have a long way to go to get where we want to be. There are many good teams all over the Midwest and the entire Country. We hope to play many of them this year. That is the only you get better. We will win plenty of games and lose plenty of games this year. In the end it is all about the GIRLS having fun and getting better. We will be fighting for a birth to ASA/USA Nationals in Bloomington, IN. We hope to face off with the best from all over the country there.

The previous Gators 01 post is right on! 10 year old girls will have ups and downs all year, and although they are very competative, the fun part will keep them playing.
Nick: April 22nd works for us up here if you are available. I know I can get two quality teams in addition to us. You are about two hours away maybe 2-1/2 with a time change. What time would work best for you?
If anyone else is interested in playing in Northwest Indiana, please contact me at tc-10u_girls@att.net for more information or possibilities of playing. The costs will be minimal (probably umpires only). I have interest but no definites other than us yet.

I agree Dr. K-Several of the Triple Crown parents had some of the worst attitudes I have ever witnessed (actually chanting "cheaters/using obsene levels of profanity" during one of the games. The coach was also tossed during one of the games for arguing a call that wasn't even close. Irregardless, not a good example for the little girls/others on his team. His negative attitude prompted the girl on his team to begin arguing with the umpire as well.
Very sad to watch.

What a shame! These parents sound like real special role models for their kids. I wonder what will happen when they play a good "A" level team that run rules them? I'm sure the teams around Indianapolis will be accused of rolling bats like the Gators 01 did at Center Grove last fall at the Witches Brew.

After 3 tournaments hosted by the Indiana Magic I am thrilled not to go back there. I am so proud of the Xtreme girls for winning all 3 tournaments especially since every time we played the magic they had 2 extra players, the umpires! All the negative comments about the fans attitudes are from sore losers. The magic never expected anyone to come on to their field and beat them in 3 tournaments. When the Xtreme won the January tournament their fans refused to clap for our girls. If u asked any other team but the magic they would not have anything bad to say about our fans. We were so frustrated with all the home calls the magic was getting from certain umpires. The UIC even apologized to our coach for the poor performance of certain umpires. We were never rude to the players, our comments were aimed at the umpires. We are proud of our coaches for sticking up for our girls! Get over it move on and live to play another day!

Tcx not true... Word is you guys were pretty nasty in Kankakee in the fall and teams went to the td to complain and you had to be babysat... One of those teams was one that beat you yet they were still upset.

Your team is extremely talented- there is no arguing this point. We have always enjoyed playing teams like yours because we feel like we can really benefit from playing good quality teams. I can honestly say I don't really mind if we don't see you again this season. I just prefer a fun enviroment for both teams/both groups of parents-no sour grapes here-your team is the better team at this point-hands down. Overall, it was just very uncomfortable during the entire game. I can assure you that I have ZERO connection to the IN Magic organization. I had to move my young son from the bleachers and stand along the wall with him to finish watching the game due to the negative attitudes/profanity. We have played the Magic multiple times and have only won a few during that span. In no way have I ever felt like the umpires had a role in a win or a loss. Nor have I ever felt they had a role in any of the games we have won or lost in Lafayette/any location (at least not intentionally).
They are human and miss some calls from time to time-no doubt. They really have no vested interest and honestly really don't care who wins (just my opinion). For the most part they are doing this as community service. Furthermore, I did speak with other fans/coaches from three other teams at this particular tournament that were very concerned as well and neither were from the Magic squad.
On a positive note a few of your parents did apologize to us on the way out for a small group of bad apples. My feelings are that most of the coaches and parents are great people just a very bad experinece for us overall due to the language and screaming/contesting every call. Please try and not take this as an attack. Although, I am concerned if you don't see an issue with some of the behaviors.
