Killer, do I understand correctly that the entry fee is $1500 for Premier Nationals plus you have to buy the additional Premier insurance for players/background checks for all non-playing dugout personnel? $17 per adult and $6 for players?

Hopefully the scoreboard operators at the Premier tournament will keep up. :-)

Probably not as good as the scoreboard operators inblue at the Sportzone  Chuck, maybe you can give a class on that.

Gunshy, We have not received the official packet. Haning is in Colorado this week and will get with teams that received berth next week. I have heard there are waivers in place for insurance. Yes, the fee is a bit high, but a small price to pay to put my unrecruited in front of 300+ coaches. Our team fees are low.. and we no longer do Colorado, so I call it a push! Asking parents to come up with $125 on top of a $400 team fee is still half of what most orgs charge!

Killer, your team fees are K-mart cheap! We did some checking early and found hotels were running $170-$189 per night 30 miles from the tournament site, once we flew there and rented a car. We figured it would cost each family between $2500-$3000 to attend that event, bare bones. That being said, asking them to pony up and extra $125 to cover entry fees is insignificant anyway. Aside from the obvious great competition and it IS a top quality tournament, how do you convince your players who are already committed (and their wallet-bearing parents) that this event makes sense?

Hotel $71 a night
4 rental vans $450
A week on the boardwalk rollerblading in my speedo.... PRICELESS ;)

Not a real issue of trying to convince the players with their rides. They all know the plans before coming aboard. All realize it's a team sport.. Need to be there for the players without the rides too. My parents are ate up with playing against the best we can find. Never has there been an issue with the dollar. We dropped Colorado knowing our national event(gold and premier) is on the left coast.
One of these years we'll get a non softball vacation.

Dollar is always a factor, to some degree, on a team without a seperate cash source. $71 per night? I can't find rooms for $71 per night in Huntington, Indiana, much less Huntington Beach, Ca.We'll all be pulling for you and hope you guys do well.

Killer...after your coaching days maybe you can become an umpire and then your "vacations" can be a paid by softball?
