now now, Ballguy if you really don't care then why do you answer the post of looking in?

Was CJH really the main pitching coach of both Erica and Whitney?

In my opinion Whitney Owens was one of the best.

I know of several occasions where W. Owens had late night lessons with CJH to tweak her rise ball. They had to be late night as her high school coach did not like CJH and did not want his kids going to her. I do agree though, Owens was one of the best to come out of Indiana.
I do not know if CJH was Erica's main pitching coach. I do know that my DD had lessons on Saturdays the follow class as Erica for 2 years. For those 2 years Erica's lessons were also private one on one lessons. I would guess that shows a little something.

all the instructors are good at teaching hitting here in Indiana to a certain level. In order to do well at the ASA Nationals advanced hitting like what they teach at UCLA needs to be taught.

I just talked to Jerry Owens about that and he replied that he only mainly used CJH for hitting and not for pitching. If you don't believe me then I will ask him if I can give you his number so that you can check it out for yourself.

I think you would be surprised who was her main pitching coach and it was not CJH>

Oh yes, when it comes to hitting Bell is only good for beginners. If they want to learn advanced hitting they need to go to Gary Slinger. Slinger can really excells at the type of hip rotation and elbow slotting that prevents Bat Lag.

He is also very good at teaching Bat Drag in loading the wrists to get better bat speed.

 This is funny!

Yea I heard the same thing about Bell. He is only good for beginners that's pretty much all he works with. AND>>> Oh no...he does teach bat lag(NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH BAT DRAG) That big dummy says bat lag is normal and somewhat necessary in the swing. As the core+shoulders begins to rotate, the bat drops down into a lag position. As the rotation of the shoulders decrease, the bat then causes it to whip out and into the path of the ball. - This is defined as lag.
I tried telling him that he is full of crap, but he doesn't listen. ;) So I would give up on him if I were you.
But, you keep going to the ones that teach advanced hitting. I personally have not seen any advanced hitters come through this area with the exception of maybe Alexia Clay. Just because they go to college and play, are they necessarilly advanced hitters.
 HEY EVERYONE-There's someone that teaches bat drag you may want to get into! BTW Are you sure Slinger knows you're advertising for him?

Smells a little like john :o

Here is my take on pitching instructors.
First and foremost I believe CJH, Owen, Jason, Darcy V., and Mike M. all do some good with the pitchers. All have ladies that throw well. I think they all do things a lil different and some extremely different but each have there own way. Some have 4,5 and 6 gals at a time. Some have only 1 or 2. Darcy was 1 on 1 but cost you $45. (money well spent). But almost all the ones i mentioned feel they are the chosen one. ;) I think they all are capable and glad there are instructors that we can make our own choice. I just wished while doing a lesson with whoever, you didn't have to listen to how good they are or why they are better than there competitors. I do not see this type of ego's in hitting instructors as I do pitching instructors? I know John has been around for a long time and has done a great job for Indiana, but there are others that are better? or as good.

Just giving my own opinion, not saying I am right.....I'm just saying...........Can't yall just get along.

Michael

If you notice, the ones with 5 or 6 only work with the best one 75% of the time!! they gotta have a "big" name in the stable!

Why should I apologize, I should be able to teach hitting better than Killerbee. He may be good but I am better.
