Do you all know how these ladies are chosen? I'm just curious cuz our HS team made it to the Final Four and doesn't have one girl on any of these teams. Thanks.

Alot of it is politics, how good your coach is at working for his/her kids! Alot of studs everybody knows made the list, as they should! But, alot of girls alot of us have never heard of! Lot's of very good players not even mentioned! If they made it they should be proud! Congrats ladies!

A lot of it depends on the coach. It seems the Indy metro area are a lot more tighter knit than some of the outlying areas. I don't mean to be critical of ANY of the girls on either list and I'm not trying to take anything away from any of them.

I think in many cases, coaches don't make any effort for kids they have who may be deserving. I feel like coaches have their expectations of what these kids need to do for them, when the time comes they need to go to work for the kids and fight for them to get them some statewide exposure.

I had a coach from out here in the sticks tell me, you have to start nominating kids when they're freshmen or sophomores at the latest, just to get their name in front of people enough where maybe they'll remember the name by the time they're seniors.

I'm sure all the kids listed, are more than deserving and I am in no way, shape, or form trying to take anything away from them. There are some studs on the list who everyone knows. I also know there were some very deserving kids who aren't on the list. It is what it is, and it's was that way long before I was around and it will be long after I'm around.
Every man lives by a code:
1.Always look cool
2.Never get lost
3.If you get lost, look cool

Someone from your school has to be active in IGCSA. Some coaches/schools don't participate in the group and their players suffer in terms of public recognition.

There are 5 districts in the state and each coach can nominate players for all state.

In each district the coaches that show up to the meeting (show up being the key) talk about their players and then a vote is taken. If your coach doesn't show up and network the player won't get any votes. The top 5 vote getters are 1st team all state, next 5 second team, next 5 third team and last 5 are all district. You are right there are politics and some very good ball players get left out for various reasons.

The top voter getter in each district is named district player of the year and is one of the 5 finalists for Miss Softball at the North/South all star game. The coaches that are in attendance at that game cast ballots for one of the five finalists before the games begin.

Right or wrong that is how the system works and congrats to those that made the lists the full list of the all state players and their high schools can be found by clicking on the All State Team link at www.icgsa.org

JD

What about the $100.00? Can you buy your way onto the list? Who would want to do that?
