Indiana players in college - how are they doing?

Now that college softball season has started, let's hear about how the Indiana girls are doing in college.

Megan Mitchell (Harrison HS/Twisters), a freshman at Transylvania, got her first collegiate HR against DePauw. She was named Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Hitter-of-the-Week batting .571 with a .929 slugging percentage.

Kathleen Maloof received Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week and is leading Dayton in hits and RBI's.

Mel Dumezich (Whiting H.S.) is starting at 2b as a freshman for Texas A & M and is 3-0 pitching. Hit two HR's in one inning in a game against Mississippi State.

She had a pretty good tournament in georgia, made tourney team. The team, not so much!! Future could be interesting!

"Sophomore right-hander Chanda Bell charted 30 strikeouts in three outings last week. She has now tipped her career total to over 300 strikeouts. That total makes her just the second player in school history to amass over 300 strikeouts in a career"

Killer, those are REALLY impressive stats for your daughter. Thru your years in travel softball you have never been bashful, one to be short of words or hesitant to share your opinion; this is the time to blow your horn, not turn over a new leaf!! Chanda is eating them up and you should be proud to tell us about it, as she has earned it.

Bashful, No! But to brag on my own, I typically don't do. I am a proud pop of her accomplishments and all.
To give my opinion- I think things at UK could be a bit better from the circle. In her 10 games, she has only thrown one change-up(all pitches come from the dug-out) . I don't understand why they are relying on GAS to get by some of the big sticks. She does give up the long ball from time to time with the hitters 2nd to 3rd time through because of what I feel there is not enough change of speed. But what do I know... I'm just a travel coach
As a Dad, I still love my Chanda win or lose. She is getting to PLAY and start in the toughest conference, she loves the school and the girls on the team are great kids. Can't ask for anything more!
