With regards to the young lady from Riverton Parke and why they are not ranked have they played any games? The first poll of the year is voted on basically blind and usually the teams that are ranked in the top 5 were at the state finals or went deep in the regional the previous year. I know for example in 1A there are only 5 or 6 coaches in the state that vote and many of them don't know the travel freshmen that are coming in so that is the reason. I feel in 1A Tecumseh should have been in the number 2 spot and Lutheran and Frontier in 3 and 4, but it is just a poll. For example 2 years ago DD's school was ranked like 12th or so in the first poll and they beat Center Grove in the first game and they jumped to number 1 or 2 the next week. These are the opinions or very few coaches in each class and the first one is based from last years results so be patient and it will sort itself out over the next few weeks.
