Start up teams

Last year there were quite a few start up teams...........I know of two which will not field teams this year.

Which start up teams made it through their first year and will field a team this year?

Are there any new start up teams this year and if so what are your thoughts on how well they may or may not do?

We started two teams last year a 10u and a 12u, I must tell you it has been a struggle, I have some excellent help around me, and it is still a struggle, one big reason that we survived is our parents, I have a great group of parents and most are very willing to help, and they seem to understand our vision!!!!! In 2012 we HOPE to have three teams a 10u, 11u, and 14u, so far, so good, I have my fingers crossed, I understand how things can blow up in a hurry!!!!

I hear good things about a new 12u team in Valpo area, "Team Energy" looks like they should do well, mostly older group of kids and a good coach!! Good Luck to them!!

I must tell you it has been a struggle

I completely understand. We were on a new team last year for our introduction into travel ball and boy was it an eye opener. There are so many aspect, not visible on the surface, which play into forming a travel ball team.

I respect our coach for trying and do not envy the pressure which came with taking on such a responsibility. We were sad the team chose not to continue this year but I can understand the reasons why. The time commitment along with the financial burden can be some what overwhelming I think.
