That Central Florida politicians could figure out that since they live in vacation world, you should have a 66,000 person capacity football stadium that doesn't look like it's from the 1960's, with parking for only 5,000 cars, in the worst part of town, with a field that appears to be made from mud?

Wouldn't you think, since we have such a large quantity of people whose only job is to plan events, outings, meetings and sell the world's greatest beaches, theme parks and attractions, that they would consider utilizing 250 to 300 acres of land and build a softball complex known for hosting national tournaments in girls fastpitch and men, women, and coed slow pitch softball. Wouldn't it make sense? Even in this economy, parents still cater to their children's sporting interest. The national youth football contingent that comes down every year in December realize that. Columbus Ohio, Charlotte NC, and Chattanooga, TN are reaping the benefits of 12 weeks of sunshine during the summer. We have 20 weeks of beautiful weather in our non-summer months just made for adult national tournaments. And during the summer? Certainly we can compete with Midland Texas for summer activities as well, couldn't we? Normal, Illinois? South Dakota? Ridgeland, Mississippi? Broken Arrow, OK?

30 - 40 softball fields filled with games bring in tens of thousands of people a week. Isn't that what our area is all about? 250 to 300 acres? Do we need another Target Supercenter? This place would benefit nicely from a "Cat Osterman-type" Experience. Belleview, Nebraska? We need a world class softball facility.
