Rec All Star coaches

by nysportsfan » Sat Mar 16, 2013 10:37 pm

Anyone know how many "official" coaches are allowed in rec all stars? Is it 1 manager and 2 coaches only or can there be more than 2 coaches? Does it change for district and state tournaments? Unless I missed it, I could not find this info in the yellow book. Thank you...

There's no limit on the number of coaches and team parents that are allowed in the dugout - you're only limited by the size of the dugout. ;) As you've probably seen, only requirement is all have to be individually registered and have a background check. You also need at least one of them to be ACE certified in addition to the manager.

The rules are the same for the 'State' tournament, which is actually the SoCal ASA Championship.

For some reason I remember that ASA restricted how many coaches could be in dug-out during State Championships. Or maybe the Manager told us that, so he wouldn't have every players dad in the dug-out trying to coach!!

I remember when my daughter played 8u all stars it was usually in the individual tournaments rules but rarely enforced. At the district tournament I think it was.
a small alteration or movement made to achieve a desired fit, appearance, or result.

I checked with Kristi Allen, who ran the SoCal State tourney last year, and she replied there is no limit.
