ASA Travel Meeting help

I'm looking for the meeting dates and location for this years ASA Travel managers meeting.
The ASA website is such a crappy site to navigate I've sort of been going around in circles looking for that info.
Can anyone help me with this?

For So Cal, I believe I saw Jan 31 at the same hotel as last year. I want to say Irvine Marriott (not sure of exact hotel), but I know it is across from John Wayne Airport, because right after the meeting I catch a plane to Vegas for the Super Bowl. I wish they would pick a different Saturday instead of the Super Bowl weekend.

Coach Registration: Any coach that is in the dugout or on the field must be registered and background checked. New this year will include any coach/helper involved with the team at the park during team or pitcher warm up must also be registered and background checked.

This is getting ridiculous. So if Suzie's dad is going to warm her up before a game he has to get a background check?? Right, like that is going to be happening.

I know what they are trying to do, but lets not be ridiculous.

The background check is cursory at best and does not catch some known felons. Maybe it's just supposed to catch Megan's list inductees. The other thing that is extremely bothersome is the requirement that a new photocopy of the driver license must be submitted each year. What happens to all the old documents that were submitted the previous year? Are they no longer valid? Have they been lost?

As a Police Sergeant, I know that the drivers license copies must be destroyed after the background check. This is for the protection of the applicant (identity theft). The background checks are done every year as people get arrested and for some reason don't advertise it. It sucks that we have to go through it every year but I beleive it is a necessary evil. It does seem kinda silly that a father or mother needs to be background checked to catch their own daughter. It does protect the organization and in limited ways, safeguards the girls. I ran every parent on my team just to be sure. My background checks are far more detailed than ASAs. You can run anyone you want on the Orange County Court website for free and it will even tell you when they got their last traffic ticket. The other web sites I check is the Megans law web site. This is all public information and available to everyone. If anyone wants the web address for the County Court web site send me a PM.
