by juandoe » Sun Jul 15, 2012 8:01 pm

Out of state teams to watch out for at ASA Nationals.....
http://www.bloomingtonnationals.com/
http://www.facebook.com/louisiana.oone#!/10Unationals
Did a lil research and it looks like these are some of the best teams going to ASA Nationals. Looks like some very good competition. Should be alot of fun playing the best teams in the Nation...

Alabama

Birmingham Thunderbolts
http://www.hometeamsonline.com/teams/?u ... ftball&t=c
http://www.gamechanger.io/t/spring-2012 ... 3/schedule

This is arguably the best team in the Southeast. They won the USFA World series in 8u two years ago, so they have been together for a couple of years now and have faced most if not all the best teams from the South and Southeast this year. They have won all the tournaments they entered except one. Turf Wars, where they lost to the best teams from Tennessee (Team Worth) and Louisiana (Louisiana Rippers)in the same day. They have as good chance as any team to win ASA Nationals.

1st- Alabama ASA State tournament
1st- Alabama USFA State tournament
t1st- ASA 10u Hall of Fame tournament in OKC
1st- Civil War
1st- Carollton Classic

Birmingham Vipers
http://www.hometeamsonline.com/teams/?u ... ftball&t=c
http://www.gamechanger.io/t/spring-2012 ... 9/schedule

One of the few teams to beat the Bolts this year. They have also been able to beat the best teams from Tennessee and their home state Alabama. Two States that did well at Nationals last year, so they are obviously a talented group. But are not as consistent as some of the others.

2nd- Alabama ASA State tournament
2nd- Alabama USFA State tournament

Texas

Texas Elite Easton

Texas Elite Easton is one of the fastest and most competitive teams from Texas. They won the ASA HOF Qualifier in Texas. Beating Texas Shock twice in the Championship. And did well at the ASA HOF Tournament in OKC. Losing this time to Texas Shock. They also won the Ark-La-Tex Challenge beating the best teams from Louisiana, Arkansas, and one of the better teams from Alabama. Texas Shock and Stingers Gold have won most of their games against Texas Elite Easton.

1st- ASA HOF Qualifier Tournament
1st- Ark-La-Tex Challenge
2nd- TX Bombers Shootout

Texas Shock
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Texas-Sho ... 2189719674

This team just won the Pony Nationals this year and along with Elite Easton, Stingers Gold are 3 of the best teams coming from Texas. They both beat Stingers Gold at the ASA HOF Qualifier in Texas.
They were undefeated at the 10u Hall of fame tournament in OKC. They have some good bats and a pitcher that throws hard.

1st- Pony Nationals - South Zone
t1st- ASA 10u HOF tournament in OKC
1st- Dallas ASA Preview Invitational

Stingers Gold
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Stingers- ... 7353798824

They just finished 2nd at the USFA World Series. Losing to some of the best teams from Tennessee. (Which is pretty good, considering a team that finished 3rd at last year's USFA World Series also finished 3rd at ASA Nationals.) They have an awesome record this year 102- 6 before the USFA world series and have won most of the tournaments they have entered. Coach seems pretty ambitious entering two 10u National Tournaments.

2nd- USFA "A" World Series
1st- Texas USFA State tournament
1st- TX Bombers Shootout

Georgia

Easton Elite Heat
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Easton-El ... 1575539595

This team is the best team from Georgia without a doubt and one of the top teams in the Southeast. They have done well in all the big tournaments in the Southeast this year. Winning it all at Turf Wars IV. By beating the Louisiana Rippers in the Championship. They would probably have won more if not most of the tournaments in the Southeast if not for the Bolts. Who have beat them multiple times. They do have experience though, being the only 01 team to compete in last year's ASA Nationals finishing t-13 the highest finish of the teams from Georgia. They have also been together for a couple of years finishing 4th in the 8u USFA World Series. They have a very good chance of winning ASA Nationals.

1st- Georgia ASA State Tournament
1st- Georgia USFA State Tournament
1st- Turf Wars IV

Georgia Impact
http://www.gaimpact01.com/teams/?u=GEOR ... ftball&t=c
http://www.gamechanger.io/t/spring-2012 ... 3c6100031e
Cherokee Pride
http://cherokeepride01.blogspot.com/201 ... seaas.html
http://www.gamechanger.io/t/spring-2012 ... 3/schedule
Atlanta Vipers

All 3 teams have played in all the big tournaments in the Southeast and have done well. But not as consistently as Easton Elite Heat. Impact did play well at the 10u Hall of Fame tournament in OKC and finished 2nd at USFA State tournament. Cherokee Pride finished 3rd at USFA State tournament. But all 3 can make a case for being the 2nd best team from Georgia. There is some good softball played in Georgia.

Indiana

Indiana Gators
http://www.leaguelineup.com/welcome.asp ... =689901738

The hometown team and arguably the best team from their state and their region. They have dominated the competition with an amazing record with only one loss against 10u teams. Youth 1 did a 10u ranking them the best team in the country. http://www.youth1.com/softball-headline ... kings.html (0 Cal, Tx, Ga teams in the top ten  ) They have traveled and beaten some of the best teams from Ohio, Illinois, Kentucky and Michigan. They have won all the 10u tournaments they have entered. But, they have not played the same caliber of teams as the teams from the South. They have played alot of 12u to challenge themselves.

1st- Indiana ASA State Tournament
1st- Ohio Stingrays Invitational

Louisiana

Louisiana Rippers
http://www.facebook.com/louisiana.oone#!/louisiana.oone

The Rippers have done well this year against the teams from the South and Southeast. They are one of the few teams to beat the Bolts. They made it to the Championship at Turf wars IV. And have a good pitcher that throws in the 50's . They have not entered all the big tournaments in the Southeast as the teams above.

2nd- Turf Wars IV

Maryland

Maryland Magic

This team has a 58-3 record this year. They just got done winning the Pony Nationals- East Zone.
They have 9 tournament wins under their belt including the State Championship. They should do well at ASA Nationals.

1st- Pony Nationals - East Zone
1st- Maryland USSSA State Champions

Tennessee

TN Crusaders

Have done well in their matchups against teams from the Southeast. They are another team that competed in the USFA World Series just last week finishing t-13. They may not be the best team from Tennessee but most of the teams from Tennessee are very good and have done well at ASA Nationals.

42 teams confirmed so far from 13 different States. Far more Teams and States represented than last year's ASA Nationals (31 teams 11 states). Alot of the Southeast teams that are going to Nationals were at Turf Wars IV.
http://www.ihigh.com/turfwar/broadcast_ ... lverlight=

Up to 47 teams now. 13 different States represented. The deadline to register is today. So this might be the final list of teams. #CANTWAIT

A little insight on the teams coming from Texas. Easton's strength is speed on the bases. Pitching could be better in my opinion. Shock and Stingers each have good pitching and big bats. Texas Bombers 01 is the team to watch in Indiana this year though. They started the year very strong, went through a little slump in April-May but are now peaking at the right time.

I noticed 2 of those teams finished 1st and 2nd at the Bombers Tournament. So your team has faced one of them at least. What is their (Bombers) record against those 3 teams? Would you know if the Elite Easton team has a website? Thank you for the info.

We have faced all 3 as well as the Lousiana Rippers in the past year (summer 2011 thru spring 2012). Our record against each is:

Rippers 0-1 (lost 3-2)

Stingers 0-3 (all games decided by 3 runs or less)

Shock 2-0 (3-0 & 1-0) In the 2 games (9 innings total) our pitcher has 18 k's and has only allowed 7 hits total)

Easton 1-3 all games close except for 1 that got out of hand (something like 9-2)

I've never seen a website for the Easton team. This team was one of the Texas Glory teams last year. Glory Kaderka if I remember correctly. Coach took 9 of the girls and started the Easton team.

juandoe,

Great list on the teams from the Southeast. We have faced all the Georgia teams and the Alabama teams. Bolts and Easton are by far the best. We have also faced Team Worth, Haywire and Franklin Flames who won USFA PCB. I wish those three were also coming, very strong teams. Can you give us Southeast folks some info on the Westcoast teams.

Indiana Gators 2001 is really looking forward to seeing/playing against the best in the country, no matter what the outcome. I know there are some very very talented teams out there and really look forward to seeing them and seeing how we stack up.

As far as the Youth 1 article, we thought it very funny to be #1 in the nation and no west coast or TX teams on the list. However, it was pretty cool for the girls to see themselves as "#1."

Good luck and safe travels to all of the teams attending ASA in Bloomington this year!!!!

Atlrangers- Ya'll wanted some info on the West Coast teams 8-)

AZ Hotshots-
http://www.eteamz.com/azhotshots01/
http://www.gamechanger.io/t/fall-2011/a ... 3/schedule

This team has really improved since fall, They were the 2nd best team from Arizona early in the season. They picked up the #1 Pitcher from Lil Saints (AZ). Who I thought was the best team team in Arizona at the time. But now I would say the Hotshots are the best team from Arizona. Their pitcher throws hard and can really hold good hitting teams in check. They have traveled to face the So Cal teams. But have lost all their games against the teams from So Cal that are going to ASA Nationals. I would say that they are jslightly better than the teams from Norcal.

Mizuno All American- Cervellin
http://www.softballschool.com/mizunoall ... efault.asp

One of the better teams from Norcal. They have also faced some of the teams heading to ASA Nationals and have also lost all their games against those teams.

Lady Spartans

A solid team from Norcal. Just as good as Mizuno All American. They have both beaten each other. They also played some teams from So Cal going to ASA and have also lost all their games.

As far as the So Cal Teams..

Chris61- Does Austin's Finest belong in the conversation? I noticed they beat Bombers and Texas Elite Easton. Are they up there with those teams also?

10GatorCoach- Good Luck to you and your team. Any articles on the girls is always a good thing and much deserved. They have been kicking but in your area. And I love the fact that your team's goal has always been ASA Nationals even since last year. Considering most of the 10u teams in your area mostly play NSA. You obviously know you have a special group of girls that can not only compete with the best but have a good chance to win it all. A team from Indiana did win 10u ASA Nationals in 2007. Who are some of the best teams you have faced this year? I know you had a good game against Grand Slam from Ohio. How do they look?

Thanks for putting this list together, as I think it is great knowing what all the teams have done and where they are coming from. I posted my knowledge of the teams underneath each team.

Alabama

Birmingham Thunderbolts
http://www.hometeamsonline.com/teams/?u ... ftball&t=c
http://www.gamechanger.io/t/spring-2012 ... 3/schedule

This is arguably the best team in the Southeast. They won the USFA World series in 8u two years ago, so they have been together for a couple of years now and have faced most if not all the best teams from the South and Southeast this year. 1st- Alabama ASA State tournament
1st- USFA State tournament
t1st- ASA 10u Hall of Fame tournament in OKC
1st- Civil War
1st- Carollton Classic

###### Thunderbolts a great team with big bats and a good pitcher look for them to go far

Birmingham Vipers
http://www.hometeamsonline.com/teams/?u ... ftball&t=c
http://www.gamechanger.io/t/spring-2012 ... 9/schedule

One of the few teams to beat the Bolts this year. They have also been able to beat the best teams from Tennessee and their home state Alabama. Two States that did well at Nationals last year, so they are obviously a talented group. But are not as consistent as some of the others.

2nd- Alabama ASA State tournament
2nd- Alabama USFA State tournament

###### Vipers, I have not had the chance to see them play, but when people think of 10u softball in Birmingham they say thunderbolts. Vipers have beat the bolts and a strong list of other teams, don't take them lightly

Texas

Texas Elite Easton

Texas Elite Easton is one of the best and most competitive teams from Texas.

1st- ASA HOF Qualifier Tournament
1st- Ark-La-Tex Challenge
2nd- TX Bombers Shootout

########## A good competitive team, pitching is not very strong, but there speed on the bases is amazing, they do not have the power hitters but do have the slappers. Texas Shock and Stingers Gold 01 are stronger teams. from my research they have played Stingers Gold 5 times only beating them once and Texas shock 6 times and only beating them 2.

Texas Shock
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Texas-Sho ... 2189719674

This team just won the Pony Nationals this year and along with Elite Easton, Stingers Gold are 3 of the best teams coming from Texas. They both beat Stingers Gold at the ASA HOF Qualifier in Texas.

1st- Pony Nationals
t1st- ASA 10u HOF tournament in OKC
1st- Dallas ASA Preview Invitational

######## Texas Shock a hard throwing pitcher and a off speed pitcher in the circle. They have a few big bats that could hurt you

Coach seems pretty ambitious entering two 10u National Tournaments in such a short time.

2nd- USFA "A" World Series
1st- TX Bombers Shootout

######
2nd- USFA "A" Nationals World Series
1st- USFA "A" Texas State
1st- TX Bombers Shootout
Great showing at oklahoma hall of fame tournament only losing to Easton Elite Heat from Georgia. They have also been together for a while making it to the top 5 in USFA asa nationals in 8u.

Georgia

Easton Elite Heat

1st- Georgia ASA State Tournament
1st- Georgia USFA State Tournament
1st- Turf Wars IV
###### Pitching hitting, and speed they have it, they depend on one pitcher to get the big win for them.

Georgia Impact

2nd- Turf Wars IV

A big pitch that throws about 53mph, she is the team

Tennessee

TN Crusaders

Have done well in their matchups against teams from the Southeast.

33 teams confirmed so far. 35 teams from 12 different States, if you include the two Indiana teams who I am sure will be there. More teams and States represented than last year's ASA Nationals. Alot of the Southeast teams that are going to Nationals were at Turf Wars IV.

A lot of good teams not going.

3 very good teams from Tenessee

Franklin Flames
Team Worth
Worth TN Hustle

2 very good teams from Alabama

Killing Time
Haywire

1 good team from Florida

Jacksonville Storm

Would be nice to see some of these teams also sign up. All good teams. Especially those Tennessee and Alabama teams. They always do well at Nationals. 8-)

Softballmomrock- Have you seen any of the other teams not on the list from the South and Southeast going to ASA? If so which ones have impressed?

IMO the best teams we have seen from the region would be:

Michigan:
USSSA MI Pride Stars- team full hitters that should do well at USSSA in Orlando
Kalamazoo Klash- Faced Klash 2 times in IL and they are a solid team. Not sure what Nats???

Ohio:
Grand Slam: very solid pitcher/catcher combo who are both good hitters
OH Lady Lasers Green: Team built on hitting. They will put the ball in play up and down the lineup and a hard nosed group of girls. Had been lacking pitching, but picked up a new pitcher who throws hard and Lee is bringing her along well.

Kentucky:
Played 4-5 teams, but don't think any will be in Bloomington.
