I see this as a no issue the coaches did nothing wrong and it wasnt a crime.
Happens in all types of businesses.

Really, because fraud is widespread..it is not illegal???

Let me put it into simpler terms so you can understand.

For example:
I own a printing company(school district) that buys paper from one main source(uniform co).
My purchasing manager(coach) has been doing business with them for years.
Without my(school district) knowledge, my purchasing manager(coach) and his family has been receiving kick backs in the amount of $700k on purchases the company(school district) has made and paid for.

Should I fire the purchasing manager (coach) and take legal action??? Hell yes!

get it now?

I imagine the IRS will be very interested to know if these coaches declared all these funds.

Curious why it isn't front page in OC Register? Seems it would be a bigger story.
Don't worry about tomorrow. You did that yesterday.

This isn't a business! These are tax payer funded school districts. I don't know about you, but I don't approve of using my hard earned $ for this BS. Particularly during a time when schools are in such dire financial straights. 280 people lost there jobs this year in the district I work for. You can bet your a** that some heads are gonna roll!

Checks should have gone to the School Sport(Football, Baseball, Softball, etc...). The coach should have told the company to write the check to the HS with the sport on the Check. Ethics are in questions here.

If you're not cheating, you're not trying. And it's only cheating if you get caught!! Well you got caught!!

Not sure if it made the print edition. Doesn't look like it.

That's perfectly legal. We sell PE clothes at a profit to help fund athletics, not somebody's slush fund.

Well one thing for sure at least we know our travel ball coaches wouldn’t be involved in something like this. :D

One or more unnamed coaches at Saddleback College in Mission Viejo also are implicated in the report.
