Diamonds "Black" 14u Alvarez is changing organizations!

Diamonds "Black" 14u Alvarez is pleased to announce that we will be Minors Gold 16u for the upcoming fall season. We will be making the change after 2011 Nationals. Minors Gold is one of the most well respected and successful organizations, 3 time USA/ASA National Championships and 2 time USA/ASA runner up finishes. The organization has teams 10u-18Gold divisions. Our 16u team will be practicing with the 18Gold team (Lovelace). We will be attending all the major showcases. We have a interest list forming for workouts and tryouts for the upcoming season, however we do have roster spots available for this year to help us make a run at Nationals, ALL positions available! Isnt it customary to actual change orgs first, then start promoting your new team, unless of course Diamonds are all becoming MG?

I see variations on this theme posted with regularity. What does it mean? If you think you are going to "make a run" don't you need to have at least a couple of key positions filled? If I had a stud DD looking for a team that was primed to compete at a national level, I think she would want a team that just needs one more piece, not a team starting from scratch. A post like this is almost certain to land you nothing more than a couple of bench-sitters who are unhappy with their current coach. And if you take them, it means you had no shot at "making a run" in the first place.
