Laser Red 98 would like to thank the California softball community for stepping up and making a bad situation a great weekend for a team of girls from Ohio/Pennsylvania.
When we first heard the “Surf City March Classic” tournament was cancelled last Friday we were very disappointed considering we had flown 3,000 miles to play in sunny CA. However, many people (Gary, Manny, Art, and SoCal Dad) went the extra mile to set up games for the girls to play in Saturday and Sunday.
Special thanks goes to SoCal Dad for posting on the Ohio Fastpitch Forum information to help us get in contact with people in CA. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
We went from thinking we had no games to play to playing 7 games on Sat & Sun and were invited to play several others.
The girls from Lasers Red enjoyed competing against the Cal Breeze, Strike Force, OC Batbusters, Nemesis Elite 14U, Lady Assassins, and USA Athletics. Lessons were learned, friends were made, and it will go a long way to making us a better team.
We are looking forward to coming back out in April and competing in the “Beat the Heat” tournament.
