Really AA's?????

Terrible, horrible, tournament. The absolute worst I've ever seen. Really? Co champions in every freakin division?
T-shirts? Really? Who on Earth was in charge of this debacle? I mean I know the Athletics have historically made a descent name for themselves, but this year marks the last year this tournament should ever be put on again if this is what teams have to spend their money on. I don't even know where to start. And just think, they're the only ones coming out smelling like a rose to all the less fortunate kids (and the Marines) with all the toys all the teams donated. Talk about another "Lebron James" situation. Over sell the tournament, know ahead of time they weren't going to finish the tournament, scheduling that made absolutely no logistical sense, take everyone's money, leave the park before the final games end? Blame it on lights, rain, blah, blah, freakin blah. Hey but it's for the kids right? Jokes on us I guess.

This has always just been another giant freindly and another chance to keep the girls playing. If you are looking at this thing like it means anything to win or lose you are desperate. I am sure almost all the players were like thank god can we go home now !!

You sound like the Grinch (or a 10u parent - was Ray Ray in this tournament?)

When you sign up for a tournament in December, rain is always a possibility. Playing in large tourney, with over 80 teams, can be tough to schedule, especially when there are delays. How were you "oversold" on this tournament? What were you promised? At least they had a rain out policy, that is good contingency that is not always available. Maybe you should stick to one of the small tournaments that only had 8 teams so you make sure it finishes out.

Longitude - you should have tried drinking from the other drinking fountain. While your cup was half empty, my cup was half full.

The co-champions played 7 games over two days and the girls could not have been any happier than when they realized they could get out of the cold and rain and did not have to play that last championship game.

Toys for Tots got a significant number of gifts to pass along to those less fortunate than our daughters.

(12) 10u teams, (28) 12u teams, (37) 14u teams and (17) 16u teams participated in this tournament, and played no fewer than 4 games each. The name of the game in November/December is to get some game time before we give the girls a break for the holidays. I personally thank my lucky stars that I live in SoCal where my daughter can actually play some games against teams from Fresno to San Diego, while others are shoveling snow.

So while I certainly wondered why I was driving from one field to another, sometimes with only 15 minutes between games, I dealt with it and appreciated the efforts AA's organization put forth to host 1,000 softballers and 230 games over 2 days.

I’m with you longitude. But its not about us it’s about the kids. So I have a great idea for those coaches that won the co-champ ask their kids if it was worth working that hard and getting co champ and t-shirts . Come on coaches let me here it.

You guys are really complaining about getting some games in in December, and only getting t-shirts?
Holy crap, I have a bunch of t-shirts I can give you if you want!
I have a crap load of nice trophies from 8u, 10u. and even 12u, probably enough for both your teams. All you have to do is cover the label with your own.
They are just collecting dust, and I've been wondering what to do with them.

Jeez people, the AA's T4T website clearly explains all the policies for rainouts, etc.
They have put this tournament on for years, to benefit needy children at Christmas.
You are playing alot of the games across the street from Oggis's for goodness sake!
