Cash Money Tournament Redux

Saw the following ad (italics) on eteamz for a Cash Money Tournament. Didn't this idea come up a couple of years ago, and then was scrapped due to questions regarding the player's amateur status (and future eligibility)?

With $1000 to the winner and $500 to the runner-up, and 6 teams max at $300 per entry fee, it doesn't seem there would be any money left after paying umpires, field fees, etc.

Wondering if anyone is signed up for this cash tourney, and would like to know how it turns out.
