Tryouts/Open Work outs

by samsoftball » Fri Jan 08, 2010 11:42 am

How are they going? Are there any "stud" players still searching for a team or has everyone pretty much locked up their rosters at this point (12U & 14U).

I have heard that there have been huge turnouts at some (like Sudden Impact) and none at others.

Has everyone found a home yet? Seems like there are several teams forming, are there enough quality players to go around?

There is no charge for awesomeness

Sorry J, I was not there. Just heard it from a buddy. Just like I heard that this weekend Minors Gold 97 had a good turn out. I also heard that OC Elite 97 and The Hurricanes had no one come out.

Sounds to me like the some organizations are struggling to get players, while others are turning players away......

Well we are sure that all the girls that teams are turning away are not all bad players, Team Easton99 out of Westminster is looking to rebuild for this season with a couple of "BETTER QUALITY" players. you guys can send them this way.

Interesting year in 12u - so the So Cal Breakers had 35 girls (for two teams), while I heard the San Diego Breakers and #17 San Diego Renegades 97 had very few.

Hard to see the #7 So Cal Breakers 97 team adding many players, my bet is most of these "new players" will make the 2nd team. Not sure why more people did not attend the Renegade tryout.

I was also told that there was a Renegades pitcher who also left and went to Power Surge 97. Also heard that an outfielder went to Breakers from Renegades as well. probably why they are holding additional tryouts and open workouts.....

the Legacy 12U team folded and seems that majority of those girls are now on TNL. SD has become too watered down in travel in 12 and 14. very few quality teams left because of this. Aztec, Power Surge and Breakers seem to have the most talent along with quality coaching.
