BTW - I don't care what Brack says...the Rebels are not #2, as they have not played against a handful of the top teams (i.e., Powersurge, Firecrackers, Batbusters, etc). Powersurge should be #2, with Batbusters or CA96 at #3. The only reason that the Rebels won the Toys for Tots is because the Firecrackers were not there...

Ok I'll take the bait .......

The Rebels are #2 by way of coaches and pollsters votes... and deserve their ranking.

Have you actually watched PowerSurge in bracket play against a good opponent? Batbusters are currently Dr Jekyll and Mr. Hyde...Yes Batbusters and Powersurge look great some games but neither is consistent enough yet to be #2. Batbusters, Powersurge and CA96 all had a chance to win AA T4T but only CA96 made the semi-finals…. In fact the same three teams had a change to win Chino but again none made the final. So give the Rebels some credit!

This is not last year we do not have a dominant team that can play bad and still beat 99% of the teams in bracket play. Remember anything can happen between now and Nationals!

It's only fall and the Firecrackers bracket play tourney wins are no more impressive then the Rebels….

I just dont get how you can make a top without even knowing these other 12u teams? thats just my opinion though.

There are over 50+ 12u teams in So. Cal so it is possible and likely that we have not seen everyone. I have watched both Minors Gold and TNL, not sure if either is an elite team yet! TNL is well coached as always and MG does have above average talent... but there are some very good 97 teams out there!

POWERSURGE ADDS - 2 FOR FALL

From website:

"We did select two very talented players which will add to an already very strong team. We were looking for impact players that can play at the highest level of Travel Ball. If we did not have that quality of athlete at tryouts we would not have taken any players. But the two players we selected are top notch softball players that will make Power Surge even better.

We selected Taylor Wyckoff a much needed pitcher who can bring it. She is 5'10 and can also hit for great power. Kind of scary to think we are adding another big bat to our already powerful lineup.

We also selected a 1997 birthday player in Abigail Metsch. Yes, that is right, we selected an 11 year player to join all our 1996 12 years old older gals. Abigail to my knowledge has never played Travel Ball, at least at the level we play. Why the heck would we take her. Well, she ran the fastest of all my current players and we are fast, hit for power like our big hitters, played a smooth shortstop, and to make her more valuable, she is a great catcher.

We would also like make mention that we have offered a spot to Shelbi Evans as she was a great replacement catcher for our starting catcher who was out most of the Fall with a broken ankle. Shelbi played hard and earned a spot on our Power Surge team.

With these three additions to our already strong team look for even better results from POWER SURGE in 2009 on the softball field!!!!"

They weren't there so that is a moot point. I think the Rebels should be like #5 or #6, I agree. They have not proven anything. Who really wants to be #1 or #2 anyway? Stay out of the radar is my philosophy.

The Rebels are happy with bracketologist saying the coaches poll had them #1. That represents people that know what they are talking about.

My 12 year old plays softball better than your 12 year old. My 4 year old can build a higher stack of blocks than your 4 year old too. SO THERE!

(Bunt home runs do wonders for a kid's stats)
