Teams changing organizations...

Is it too late to get this back on the original topic? (my first post so I don't know what works here)
Anyway, I need help. DD's organization just merged or was taken over. Not sure which. All I know is the name remains the same, but a new coach and some new players from what was until this weekend, a different team.
We just paid our Winter dues. Should we get them back if we decide to move on? I know under normal circumstances, this may be a “No”. However, due to the massive changes that were unexpected, do we have a chance?

You have a valid argument that the new configuration of this team is 'not the program you signed up for' when you paid your dues and as a result you want a refund and want to move on to another team.

Whether you get a refund will tell you volumes about how they're going to run this team going forward.

Yes, if you opt to leave immediately following the changes are announced, you should ask for and get your money back. However, if you wait a month, then probably not, at least not all of it. (because some pro-ratable amount would have been spent to your DD's benefit).

Thanks Mike and Anon.. I figure we need to figure things out this week. They have a friendly scheduled for this weekend up in Victorville (I think). Probably should determine if we are going to that.

I wish I was more savy at this travel ball scene so I would have a better handle on how to deal with this. Unfortunately, with any major change, people get upset and it is hard to tell how things are going to work out in the long run.

I think the parents from the other team are just as "surprised" as they were just having tryouts the previousl weekend and they were thinking they were on an "established" organization that did well at Nationals in August.

Question for everyone = we're a single independent team (Team Renegade 95). Been approached on our team joining other organizations. What are the benefits and drawbacks of being part of the larger groups? Think I know but never hurts to ask. Thanks gang.

If your kid doesn't play for Minor's Gold then you don't know what really goes on in the organization. You and "your friend" should get your facts straight before you come on here and post lies that only show how disgruntal you are. My DD plays for MG and she has never been happier. MG runs a respectable organization and does a lot for their players and their player's future. Its not all about the money but it does take money to run an organization.

I don't post on here until I really feel passionate about the topic and this one I want to speak on. I am not up to date on the MG drama but I wil say one thing; we all know drama is drama. A big whatever to that thought.

What I am passionate about is that Larry Minor is an amazing man and he does A LOT for this sport. As an ex-player, I respect that...his daugter Aimee was a phenominal hitter and player at Washington and he's been around a long time offering support to kids that play this sport....whether financial, fields (even at his own house), etc. He gives back a lot to these kids and I know he's a good guy.

His name and organization are respected by those that matter...which are the coaches...
