scorkep wrote:Grow out of it..LOL Just to let you know I have been in girls softball for over 25 years now! Parents like to have fun, no matter what age group. From T ball thru College.

Swinging the tide is part of the game, I believe every cheer that is done at the fields are done to get your girls up and excited for the game. Don't you think so?

The point is that 12u does not need the parents to have an organized chant the shakes the confidence of the kids in 12u same for 10u. Please dont give me the we are helping them get ready for colledge, or you are trying to pump your kids only. Cause every time I see it done the other team looses focus makes mistakes, what was the posative in that? Do the parents have a meet after the game and talk about yeah we really rocked that 12 year old?

Agian I think the Rebels are a very good team and they would be better with out it.
When I started this topic I used them as an example there are alot of teams out there that do and say much worse things,
I say let the girls do there thing with out us parents trying to shift momentum, my god they are not pros & infact the reality of the matter is most of them may not even play at the colledge level, Last I checked the early recruiting for colledge is 16u.....

Wow, Radar to go off on a tangent about cheers! My team isn't so well either, heck at least you somehow made the top 20.
We get it, you don't like the Rebel parents cheering. Like we all tell our players "suck it up".
Parents are going to cheer and they should, useless you have an option for someone that has gone to practice a few times a week, hitting or fielding lessons and has been at the field all weekend. If you want them to stop cheering beat them.
So Rebel parents, keep cheering and if it sounds good and i"m around I'll probably join in.
Now can we get this thread back to discussing 12U Top Teams.

The more the kids hear it the less effect it has. You wouldn't want to be at states or nationals and deal with it for the first time. The Rebels are a good bunch of people. At least it's not "Softball Soldiers " that are walking away with the trophies.

LOL!

If this chanting is actually rattling the opposition and / or turning the momentum in the game, then maybe more teams should be doing it.

Simply get organized, come up with a chant, and use it at every opportunity. Chant until your vocal cords are shredded pulp!

That way, all the kids will be ready for the chanting throngs you see so often at the college level
Don't worry about tomorrow. You did that yesterday.

I think maybe you have had too much juice. I personally like the Rebels and think that they are the favorite to win State if they do not believe in the curse, if you read what I wrote I have stated that sevral times.

You make a valid point & I agree with you , it is gonna happen no matter what so be it. I really did not mean to offend anyone by this (Rebels) it was just an observation & a opinion
