14U Team Ranking (Bracketologist) Pre Premier & ASA Nat 7-22

So are the players on these teams able to be pick up players for Nationals or Westerns? Or could these teams decide to continue later?

From what I understand once declared as not going forward they can not change their minds later.

Yes all the players are released from their ASA rosters & eligible to be pick up players for ASA

Looks to me like all the teams who were awarded a berth have not declined it.

A team can decline an ASA/USA berth without discontinuing ASA championship play (i.e. go to Westerns). OC Wildcats '97 did it 2 years ago.

True but I don't think that the issue of interest here.

It is - you can't determine whether or not berths were accepted by the list of teams that are not continuing championship play. I know at least one team declined their berth and expect there were others.

Power Surge 96 is going to ASA Nationals ......... interesting.

Team looked very good at the Premiere Qualifier. I'm not a fan of the qualifier format for 14U or 12U........ It would have taken a total of 3 games to play the winners bracket out.

Hope Premiere holds a "12U Premiere So Cal State Championship" next year instead of the ASA Gold qualifier format.

Will update all polls before ASA & Premiere:

It's going to be tough to predict who will win it for Premiere – as the smaller the field the harder it is to predict. ASA will be a bit easier as there are a handful of teams that seem to dominate their area this year.

Will group teams by:

1. Favorites = The top 2-3 teams that should make the semifinals regardless of bracket. Sure they will need a bit of luck in a couple of close games – but they will be playing on Sunday.2. Contenders = Good enough to beat a favorite but usually a bit vulnerable/susceptible to other Contenders and Spoilers.
3. Bracket Dependent Contenders = Need a weak bracket to give them an easy road to playing on Sunday in the Winners bracket. 4. Spoilers = good enough to wreck a bracket with an upset or two but not strong enough to win it.

Just a quick come back on bracky's comment on Angels - Allen taking time to get PGF berth , That's because they EARNED IT , so go ahead and put a note next to each team and let us all know how they got their berth - Earned ,freebie , or an under attended tourney , it would have been a whole different story if ALL the teams had to play to get a berth.
