Team Jumping

You must have a good Travel coach. I don't think you could consider a girl moving up from rec ball to travel at any point of the year, team jumping.

I call bull, your saying a 13 or 14 year old club baseball pitcher, that is used to pitching at 60'6"and base paths at 90' could not throw it by a 10 or 11 year old at what im assuming to be a little league field of 45' pitching and 60' base path.

Like it or not, its a true story. As I said in the post, it was a baseball field not a softball field. The girls pitcher did move up to throw. Like it or not, lower level Fastpitch girls just simply outclass the top Little League boys. Maybe it is because girls mature faster or maybe its due to female intuition. LOL. I watched the Little League World Series over the last few years. I think I counted at least 35 routine pop ups dropped by outfielders under the ball. Don't even get me started on the overthrows, bad base running or infield errors. I don't watch with a serious game in mind. It is more like a comedy. You just don't see that in the upper levels of Fastpitch.

Oh and that final championship game last year? Priceless! Kinda like watching grass grow even with the record for home runs being tied. I think I really started laughing the hardest when the pitcher started crying after the big kid hit a home run off of him. His dad must be really proud.

Hey bo,

I am truly sorry for your lack of reading comprehension. Maybe a night course at the local community college will help.

I agree with you GSB in that LL is not the best culture to learn the game of BB i.e. 60' base paths, no lead offs, no stealing, pitchers don't have to learn holding runners on or pick offs, no inf fly, no drop 3rd strike etc. This is why there has been a mass exodus to bb travel team explosion the last 10 years.
"BO" I agree with you to some extent.....14 yo throwing to 10 yo would be overpowering. However, GSB is right in that girls mature WAY faster and don't get all butt hurt when they don't have success at every AB or up on the bump with every pitch. In all my years playing/coaching bb I've seen all different kinds of boys with mechanically flawed tear ducts. With the girls they have an uncanny ability to compartmentalize their emotions and analyze later when not in the heat of the moment. Just my humble opinion not trying to start anything.
