I was watching a documentary last week about the CA prison system among others that clearly showed criminals like this one do not get rehabbed. Rehab in prison is just a way to pass their time. Prison life for this type of criminal only pisses them off and educates them on how to be a better criminal. They get out just that much better at their trade. Same with drug criminals. They said that 7 out of 10 prisoners in max security prisons are doing drugs in prison. How does that help them cope with life outside prison? I say death by bunga!!! NoNo

My profound apologies. Not all of us can think up such thoughtful and informative posts like you do. I'll try to better from now on.

What is the answer? An effective justice system. Bearing in mind that no system is perfect (as this thread well demonstrates)...

I spent more than a year a while back in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The entire time I was there I never locked a door... not my villa, not my car, not my office. Why?

Because if you get caught stealing over there, they cut off your hand. Your right hand, the one they eat with. (the left they use for, well, wiping their ass). And they do it on Friday. Not next week, or month, or year, this Friday.

There is virtually no crime over there. The laws are so strict and the punishment so severe (beheading, stoning, etc) that nearly everyone goes out of there way to avoid any possible compromising activity.

Say what you want about it, the system is effective. The people live with no fear of being robbed, beat up, raped, killed, etc etc. There is a tremendous feeling of 'freedom' and 'security' that accompanies that same lack of fear.

Sit back for a second and just try to imagine a life where you didn't have set your house alarm everyday before leaving for work, didn't need an alarm and steering wheel lock on your car, didn't need pass codes to get into your office, etc.

Nearly every facet of life in America is governed to some extent by the ever increasing need for more security and more safety. We are literally captives of our social and criminal justice systems.

Freedom? That's for the bad guys.

Isn't Saudi where DD gets stoned to death for doing the nasty out of wedlock, but the dude kind of moseys back to his pad with his five wives?

Wait,,.. Then why do they do it on Friday? If its effective, there should be nobody to stone or disfigure. Even faced with the most dire consequences people still do bad things. You might be able to slow it down, but bad people still do bad things.
Even when we would hang horse thieves, people still stole horses. There were no politics back then, they just got a rope and were done with it.

As it turns out, the severity of punishment is a far less important factor than the certainty of it. Most criminals simply believe that they are not going to get caught. Now reimbue our social fabric with a healthy dose of vigilantism, effectively making everyone a cop/judge/jury, and the certainty of punishment goes way up. Then people start behaving.

First off.... "reimbue"? Secondly, Back in the day when I was young, everyone was a vigilante. If someone stole a horse or shot someone during a poker game, we formed a posse and rode out after the varmint. But there was always someone to ride after. Even taking the law into our own hands, (there was no law) people still did whatever they wanted to.

But, it's like you said, nobody thinks they will get caught.

And what would the lawyers do then? Knowing them, they'd go and replace all of the fine, law abiding engineering folk. (Assuming they got that desperate for cash)
10 years from now I'll wish I felt like I do these days.

Yeah, I'll grant you "reimbue." That's a made up word for all I know. lol.

Actually, there is considerable anthropological evidence that societies without laws and/or societies in which most individuals are lethally armed (generally one and the same) exhibit much lower degrees of interpersonal violence and disrespect than do more civilized locales.

This happened last week in west covina. She's an athlete for south hills high school. She kicked him in the groin and got away. To bad she didn't have a Synergy to finish the job. Parents teach your daughters to fight back and make their stand when attacked. Once the POS gets them where he wants them, their chances of survival are not good... Way to fight back young lady. You have a lot of fans on the bucket!

They found the remains of another missing teen, Amber Dubois, after a tip leads them to a remote section of San Diego. I'm guessing that scumbag Gardner is responsible for her death too. It's time to start taking the "gloves off" and put these mother fu%&ers down.

Unfortunately you can already see the scumbag's defense at work - last week in the local fishwrap was an article where his "bipolar"ness was prominently discussed...not saying that bipolar disorder is not a legitimate condition but it is suspicious when it comes out so soon after an arrest for rape and murder...evidently his "bipolar"ness was not serious enough for the previous D.A. to avoid a plea bargain conviction...
