First, Eduardo, anytime you see a team from your organization listed in any "top ten" list, you gotta love it, appreciate the props Eduardo.

Second, Slammer, you HAVE to be from Firecrackers '96. Yes, Mystic didn't score in that game but the umpire called the game with 10 minutes left (butter on the ump) and Mystic had 1st and 2nd with 1 out and their 3 and 4 hitters due up. Plus, they only played 3 1/2 innings so to say they could "barely score" is a bit out of line.

Third, they did score roughly 6 or 7 runs in their other 2 games that day.

Fourth, and most importantly, this was their very first weekend that they've played any game since winning Western Nationals in August. A 2 month break and any team is going to struggle.

Fifth, Mystic improved dramatically since last summer in landing 4 very good 96's. Most notably a pitcher and shortstop/power hitter.

Basing any observation on friendlies in October where everyone plays and everyone pitches is probably not the best thing to do.

Again, love to see our name there and looking forward to having our young team compete all winter against the top teams...hopefully, by the time Fresno rolls around, we'll still be considered a contender.

There are far more better 96 teams out there then them. Batbusters 96 Marquez, Firecrackers 96, Raiders 96, Cal Cruisers 96 (Wildcats) and more 95's as well. I am just saying that to pick Mystic is not realistic in the top 10 14U this early unless you have a daughter on that team. Any 96 coming into 14 as a first year is going to struggle against the powerhouse 95 teams unless you are say Powersurge who can probably beat 16's IMO. Can you give me you reasoning behind your pick of Mystic so I can better understand it?

I agree, Mystic 96 might be a stretch and to leave out the other '96 teams who finished top 10 in Normal -- well, maybe Eduardo hasn't done all his homework.. Also, I had heard Firecrackers '95 lost both pitchers and ss (maybe others) to the 16u team, they had/have some serious re-building on key positions..Still top 10 I am sure, but just saying..

CA96 lost some key infield/offensive players but also picked up players and look solid, watched one kid hit the fence twice at Jack Bulik this past weekend, so they picked up some power - Crackers '96, BB Marquez and BS 96 have several new players, looks like an overhaul and will be interesting to watch these teams build on the talent picked up; neither Bomb Squad (with the exception of their #1 pitcher) nor Firecrackers impressed me much on Sunday, but like I said they are rebuilding and should be very solid come Spring.

Aren't they a mixed team, primarily 96?

7. Power Surge 96
8. Jynx
9. Corona Angels 96
10. Mystic 96

I would guess that half of these teams do not end up anywhere close to the top 10.
