12u team list

by BigDaddyB » Tue Sep 24, 2013 10:26 pm

It is early in the season, but from what I hear there are a handful of very strong teams, then there is the second level of solid teams, slightly below the top tier.

The tops tier teams are

So Cal Athletics 01 Mercado
Firecrackers 01 Thornburg
So Cal Choppers Black

The second tier teams are

Batbusters Mizuno Stith
Corona Angels Slye
So Cal Athletics Sota
So Cal Athletics Kajatani
Millenium Bownet

Third tier

USA Athletics Ramirez
Corona Angels Tyson
So Cal Choppers Vidal
So Cal Rage

I'm sure there are some good 02 teams and other 01's that I not aware of, but we'll just have to see how it plays out over the rest of the Fall. Feel free to chime in...

Who else on top?
Just trying to catch up on my bucket talk.

A teams - for sure. No doubt about these teams. Team chemistry, experience in big games, and the the talent to win it all

Firecrackers - Thornburg
Solid hitters all around, deep pitching staff. And one of the best teams defensively. Look for them to make a serious run at the PGF National Championship.

So Cal Athletics - Mercado
Another big hitting team. very well coached. Best pitcher in 12u with a strong defense behind her. Look for them to make a serious run at the PGF National Championship.

B+ teams - all solid teams with the talent and team chemistry to make a run at the A teams.

So Cal Choppers- Black
This team has some big hitters! Combine that with a solid pitching staff and a strong defense. I expect them to make a deep run at PGF. They have the talent to win it all. And give the A teams a run for their money throughout the season.

Millenium Bownet - Agnetti
Solid team all around that has been together for a while now. Well coached team. I expect this team to make a deep run at PGF and do well throughout the season.

Team Mizuno - Stith
Solid hitting team. Good pitching staff and a strong defense. One of two 01 teams to qualify for PGF last year. I expect them to make a deep run at PGF. They have the talent and experience to win it.

B teams - teams that have alot of talent. But most of these teams I have not seen this year.

Team Mizuno - Steele
Have not seen this team yet. I believe they kept half the girls from Team Mizuno - Espalin. They should do very well this year. Good coaching, strong core of girls. I expect this team to make a deep run at PGF.

Team Mizuno - Bracamonte
Have not seen this team yet. I believe 4 players are from Team Mizuno - Espalin. I expect that they will do well and make a strong showing at PGF.

Corona Angels - Slye
This is their only 01' team so I expect this team will do well this year and make a strong showing at PGF.

Firecrackers - Blanco
One of the best pitchers in the division. Good hitting team, defense . Their pitcher will keep them in most games. I expect them to do well this season and make a strong showing at PGF.

So Cal Athletics - Sota
Very solid team. Good core of girls, added a good 01' pitcher to the pitching staff. Strong hitters in the lineup. One of the better coached teams. I expect them to make a very good showing at PGF.

So Cal Choppers - Vidal
Good core of girls. Should do very well this season. I expect this team to have a good showing at PGF

Other teams that I think will do well

So Cal Athletics - Kajitani - new team. Starting from scratch
Firecrackers - Manny - Good core of girls
Team Mizuno - Montoya - strong 02 team
Corona Angels 02 - Tyson

Any other teams out there that look strong that have not been mentioned?

Unless there is another Easton Elite 01, that team folded a little over a month ago.

Two people told me that Firecrackers Gallego was not a strong team. I know nothing about them myself.

Millenium Bownet has a high turnover rate. Don't know why that is, but only 4-5 girls were on this roster from a year ago.

I wondered what happened to Mizuno Espalin. I was told that all of their pitchers left because they don't let them bat.

Are there any other strong Firecracker teams besides Thornburg?

I think Firecrackers - Blanco will also do good this year. From what I hear they already beat Thornburg's team in a friendly. After losing to them the day before. But it was JUST a friendly. They will go as far as their pitcher will carry them. Not as strong of an all around team as some of the teams listed in the B group.

Thanks for the update on Easton Elite.

Based upon qualification to PGF and performance in the qualifiers, the top tier teams are

So Cal A's - Mercado
OCBB/TM - Stith
Firecrackers - Thornburg
Choppers - Black

I'm not sure how well Choppers Black did in the qualifiers, but I know they are a very solid team and I listed them here.

I don't know if any of these teams faced each other in tournament play, but those results would be good info.

When's the first fall tournament so we can see how all the teams are shaping up with all the player movement that has happened?

Have a great season to all the teams listed on this thread!

:

TCS Monster Mash
Escondido,Ca
Oct 19 - 20 , 2013

ASA Brenda MarshTournament
Nov. 29 - Dec. 1, 2013
Chino Hills, Ca

AA Toys for Tots
Laguna Hills, Ca
Dec. 7 - 8 , 2013

These are some of the fall tournaments that should be very good. I would be very surprised to see most of the top teams in any tournament this fall season.

I agree JD. I would imagine that not all the top teams are both ASA and PGF registered at this point. I think the Toys for Tots might be the most likely place for the top tier to meet, if any.

But these tournaments may clarify some of the other tiers and are historically good tournaments with alot of good teams.

There is also a Firecrackers Pre-Thanksgiving Tournament on Veteran's Day weekend that will be popular I'm sure. Should be alot of good teams there.

I am interested to see So Cal Athletics 01 and Firecrackers Thornburg on the dirt. From what everyone is saying, these 2 have not even started playing friendlies yet. I think your better and more established teams are just now starting to practice. Did Breakers pitcher move to 14s or playing with Steele's 12U team? If she stayed in 12s, I think they would be on the top of the list over all 3 top teams that people are talking about.

I think OCBB/TM Steele may now be right there with Firecrackers '01 in depth of pitching staff. Arguably they may have three #1 pitchers. Not sure that I would leapfrog them over teams that have been together for a couple years, yet. They are a new team and like all the others need to prove that they can play together as a team, but no doubt they have very talented players.
