Brackey How about a Pre-Fall 12u & 14u Poll? (Please)

by MSSOFTBALL » Thu Oct 18, 2012 4:21 pm

It is too early to rank 12U but there will be a upper tier of 7-10 teams and then the rest.

Corona Angels - Tyson is clearly the top dog - picking up girls from Briggs, and Watley and keeping talent from their Holt team. Will be solid in pitching, defense and offensively.

So Cal Athletics - will be solid from the merge with Gamers 99 girls and existing Athletics team. Will be solid pitching, defense, and offensively as well, and have experience.

Firecrackers - Araujo will be solid with some additions from FC LM. Speed and Pitching will be solid.

OC Batbusters - Seen them play and will be solid, they have pitching and some solid bats.

So Cal Breakers - Have most of their team back from last year with experience, played well in Premier. Lost their # 1 pitcher.

Firecrackers LM - had a young team last year with success, will have a solid team this year. They always have speed.

Power Surge Teal - have not seen them this year, but Scott will make a good run from the success of his 99 team last year. Heard they are pretty good hitting team.

Other teams that will be on the upper tier not in any order - SD Aztecs, Thunder, Mizuno, Irvine Sting, Artesia Punishers, and USA Athletics (Porter)

Sorry if I missed someone,

Should be a great 12U year.

Do any of the top '01 teams (FC'01, Gamers/So Cal Ahletics, Mizuno,Angels/OCBB or So Cal Athletics '01 stand any chance against top '00 teams based upon what you have seen in the past?

Most definitely not, I think we should quit and play a different sport!

Congratulations to San Diego Power Surge '99 for winning TCS Monster Mash this weekend in the 14U division. Great job also to Minors Gold-Berrelleza on 2nd place. AZ Hotshots '99 and Firecrackers-Lutterloh rounded out the semi-finals. Three '99 teams made it to the semi-finals in the 14U division.

TCS hasn't update the 12U division yet on their website, but congrats to both So Cal Breakers-Steele and Cal Cruisers-Orrantia for making it to the championship game. Does anyone know who won? Also, good job So Cal Athletics and Las Vegas Rage-12U Nate for making it to the semi-finals.

I dont see how Brackey or anyone else could possibly put together a poll at this point, espeically for 14u, and certainly not based on 14u results from one or more TCS tourneys this fall. Almost all of the 1998 teams have been playing 16u friendlies and showcases instead of 14u. I would hate to see some parents on teams who did well in TCS tourneys or friendlies playing 14u get their panties in a bunch if Brackey puts out a poll and it includes, among others and no disrespect if your team isn't mentioned, but the following mostly 98 teams among the top 10 (in no particular order):

Team Mizuno-Campbell
OC Batbusters-McNee
Firecrackers-Brashear
Firecrackers-Roman
Firecrackers-Contreras
Corona Angels-Martinez

Along with the following very good 99 teams that have also been playing some 16u:
Team Mizuno-Briggs
So Cal Athletics-Quarles
OC Batbusters-McGowan

So, asking for a poll seems kind of silly at this point. But I would like to see a Brackey friendly with all of these teams in it. :D

One might argue that Cal Cruisers are making a run at being the top 12u team.

TCS Monster Mash-Co champs
Nemesis Elite Halloween- Champs

I will try to put out a 12u pre Thanksgiving poll for 12u.

All the 12U poll talk got me thinking: where's Juan Doe? Haven't heard from him since 10U Nationals.
