why dont we have a 16 & 18u ranking?

Will the rankings coming soon be based on the TCS rankings?

Here are the TCS National Rankings. Both age groups rank more than 600 teams nationwide:

There are some imperfections but it's a start.
Examples:
-if a team does not submit a list of players in college over the past 5 years, they accumulate 0 points in that segment of the poll, whereas those who do submit a list get lots of points and leapfrog ahead of those who didn't. IOW, if you don't participate, your program will not get the ranking it might otherwise deserve.
-the Top 50 teams vote on who are the Top 50 teams. I know there are other polls that do this for big time sports, but asking the top 50 coaches to vote for the top 50 programs seems a a bit nepotistic. OTOH, who would know better than the top coaches? and there aren't exactly a lot of reporters covering the national travel ball scene, so...
-a win in the Colorado Sparkler counts for as much as a win in Boulder or Aurora... obviously this is geared toward making the TCS-owned Sparkler more relevant. And yeah, Aurora is TCS-owned as well, but is far more competitive than the Sparkler.

All in all a pretty decent starting point, and good on TCS for their involvement!
