Gold Draw

Had to take a double look to see if it was a TCS or USSSA tournament. Never thought gold could actually tarnish.

Well actually the majority of these teams are the ones that did not qualify for Premier last week Only TNL and American Pastime are trying to do both at this time.

The teams that are missing are the top teams in So Cal. year in and year out.

Invitation or not, they have decided to go where all the best teams will be playing - Huntington Beach and ESPNRISE/Premier Nationals :D :D

Its interesting to see what top teams you are talking about. I checked the Gold Nationals for 2009 and notice there was only 3 Southern California Teams that even made the top 10. So I would say its pretty even all the way around.

Actually there were 5 So Cal teams in the top 10 - Firecrackers, So Cal A's, Cruisers, Pumas and Valley Breeze. Add Sorcerers you have 6 teams from California in the top 10.

Guess you haven't been around too long. I am talking about the teams that qualify for Natonals year after year from So Cal/Nor Cal. Not sure what you are trying to say when you say it is pretty even all the way around.

These teams are bypassing ASA this year and attending Premier. The teams I am talking about are teams such as:
Sorcerers - 2009 ASA Nationals Champs, 13th in 2007
Firecrackers - 2009 - 3rd place, 2007 National Champs, 17th in 2008
Batbusters - 2006 National Champs, 2007 - 2nd place, 13th in 2008
So Cal Athletics - 4th in 2009, 5th in 2008, 17th in 2007
Cruisers - 7th in 2009, 7th in 2008, 9th in 2007
Corona Angels - 2nd in 2008, 5th in 2007
Explosion - 4th in 2008, 17th in 2007
Pumas - 9th in 2009, 13th in 2007
Valley Breeze - 9th in 2009, 13th in 2008
Choppers - 3rd in 2007, 17th in 2009, 17th in 2008

And if you want to start talking about across the country, then you will see the top teams are coming to HB too. Gold Coast Hurricanes, East Cobb Bullets, Georgia Elite, Arizona Hotshots, Jersey Intensity, Shamrocks, Impact Gold, .....

Those FIVE So Cal teams account for a whopping 42% of the Top 10 even though So Cal only accounted for 16% of the total field.

That does not suck.
