Gamers try outs (Murrieta)

by a97calimom » Mon Aug 02, 2010 5:21 pm

New to the travel ball scene - I had my 97 daughter attend the Gamers (Murrieta) try out on Saturday and was amazed on what I seen. The competition was pretty intimidating and the amount of girls was pretty crazy. There was well over 125 girls that attended. Not sure if my daughter will make their team but wanted to know if this is the norm for try outs. We will be attending more in the area and just want to be prepared. Thoughts please...

I have been to a few with nearly that many not sure I would say 125 though. They did do tryouts for 2001.2000.1999.1998.1997.1996 so that averages around 20 girls per division. That is a pretty good average for a tryout. I'm from OC and that Murrieta area is very Jonesey to me and the talent pool generally isn't very good overall but everyone can afford travel ball just to say to themselves their kid is good. They probably had enough girls to fill 1 good team among the whole lot and no one is committing until September 1 :D :D :D :D :D
Coming to a team near you...

Not affiliated in any way with Gamers, but I know the organization is being put together and coached by the best in the that area. Might take a little time, but this will be a quality organization. Something that area has lacked. My DD is 14U & established in another org, but if I were starting now, I'd give them a strong look.

Thank you for your response Drillbit, I was told about the design and coaches for the organization and that is what drove us to try-out. Seems like their design will be great for this area. Had another try-out last weekend for my daughter but was not impressed, nor did they have a pool of girls that I seen out at the Gamers try-out. Again thanks for your feedback.
