Scoring question

Runners are 1st and 2nd, batter hits to ss and runner hits ss. automatic out to end the inning. how do you score the plate appearance? hit, fielder's choice????? no one seems to know. Should the batter come up again the next inning?

I would assume that it would probably be scored as a fielders choice and the at bat would be complete for the inning. If the out hadnt completed the inning, it would have been a dead ball, the runner committing the interference would have been out and all other runners would have gone back to original bases, or moved ahead based on the force at 1st base.

Read the OP. The runner did not interfere with the batted ball, runner interfered with SS.

When a batter reaches first base safely as a result of a preceding runner being called out for interfering with a batted or thrown ball, or with a defensive player.

Sorry I didn’t finish. Call it “interference out” or FC if you like but it’s not. It doesn’t matter. Score a plate appearance. That’s it. It’s an official plate appearance. So no lead off next inn.
