Worst Call in Moline !?! MG vs Birm Mustangs

OK...so I'm just a dad and I'm asking for some help here. Tight game and Birmingham Mustangs were just given another "questionable" call (another time / another post). Birmingham Mustang bunts the ball 1 -2 feet inside the line toward first base. The ball rolls 10-15 feet and MG first baseman attempts to field the ball well inside the chalk. Runner makes a B-line and rolls first baseman...actually blasts her in her eye socket with left knee...ball rolls loose and runner trots to first before falling down; seemingly suffering from left knee pain. MG first baseman is seriously injured and out indefinately.

No call made meaning runner safe at first and no interferance or obstruction.

Doesn't the fielder have the right (or obligation) to at least field the ball? Why not just lay down a bunt close to home, turn around, knock the catcher on her a$$, and trot to first ?? Seems logical to me now

INT no question! If I was the MG coach I would have asked.(1) Was my player making a play on the ball? If the blue said yes then I would ask under what rule he used not call INT. Coaches need to learn to ask questions based on rules that take judgment out of the equation. Then protest based on the rule interp. This was 3-man so I assume there was a UIC on site.

Oh, I thought this was an actual poll question. I was going to vote for Power Surge vs CA Cruisers - Fly ball that dropped in shallow right center but was ruled a catch. It was the leadoff batter and it was a 3-man crew. I'm not sure what the appropriate question would be other than, "What the heck were you guys looking at?"

plain and simple interference..... and dont blame any coach for not asking a question. The only question should be how the hell can you be so foolish as to not call interference????

Can't think of any good reason why that shouldn't have been called interference.

I would not call it flagrant contact. The batter-runner had only taken a few strides out of the box, she didn't alter her path to intentionally contact the fielder and it does look like she tried to make a slight stride to the side to avoid her. That could be construed as an attempt to avoid contact or, at least, that she did not purposely try to level the fielder. It really looks like the fielder moved into her path so quickly that there wasn't much more she could do to avoid her.

Not that any of that excuses the runner from an interference call. It's still interference, whether she tried to avoid her or not. But it would mean the diference between "interference, runner out" and "interference, runner out AND ejected".

I'd be really curious to know what explanation the umpire gave the coach to explain this "non-call".

How about the worst call being in the jynx vs SJ Sting game. Jynx player hits a 2-run homer in the 7th inning to give Jynx a one run lead. Girl who hit home run as she is roundind bases gets high five from one of her players. Sting coach goes and argues that was an assist to the runner. Umpire agrees and rules home run no good and runner is out, no runs score. Score reverts back to 1-0 Sting wins and goes on to win the championship.
Might have not all facts as I was not at that game. Maybe someone can add to ths or give a better account.

OK I am going to play the devil here. If in the PU's judgment the ball/fielder/runner all arrived at the same place at the same time then you have incidental contact as outlined under ASA RS 13 (Crash/Interference). After watching the play over I would have no problem telling the coach, "In my judgment we have IC".
