pitching distance for 14/16 this season????

JV may not have a "State" tournament everywhere, but our JV/B-Squad/9th Grades have a conference playoff at the end of the year.

Our understanding was that the new rule will affect ALL highschool play--both Varsity and JV. Does anyone know differently?

The press release from NFHS only says Varsity. Some people have posted that a state association could adopt it for JV too. Here is the press release:

Actually, the state can do anything they want. NFHS rules, in reality, are merely suggestions to the members which choose to use their rules. Like ASA, they can be amended locally to suit the league, conference, competition, etc.

It is 40' and cannot change until next year, at the earliest, but I doubt it will.

Only change I see happening is a lot of HS pitching is going to be worser.

If the 16U's could pitch at 43, they'd probably be playing 18 now.

No way can 14's go to 43 IMO.
