Someone that wants to prevent teams (not yours) from shortening their line-up by reporting fictitious injuries.
First time I've heard a tournament force teams to bat their roster. Some give the option in pool play. Your team and others should give feedback on the rule so the tournament doesn't use it again.

Rule 8-7-K
When a runner is struck with a fair untouched batted ball while not in contact with a base and before it passes another infielder excluding the pitcher, or if it passes an infielder and another fielder has an opportunity to make an out.
EFFECT: The ball is dead and the runner is out. All other runners must return to the last base legally touched at the time of the interference.
So question then, was there another fielder behind the 1st one that could have made a out if the ball was not interfered with? If no, then see my 1st sentence.
no chance anyone behind short could have gotten it, left center was a huge gap and the ball was hit between short and second base. By rule she should not have been out, but the ump said that she was out because the short stop never touched the ball.

I was more venting about the poor direction that the tournament had, and was seeing if other states have this problem frequently. I assume that the "good" softball states don't have this issue.
