Runner at 1st, ground ball is hit to the F6, which flips it over to F4 who bobbles the ball drops it picks it up with her bare hand and touches 2nd base with her empty glove(remember ball is in her hand) for the force out. Is she out or safe?
I aked that Question to some blues all weekend and got 4 different answers.

She is 100% out! Look at it this way. When you touch the base with your foot, the ball doesn't have to be on your foot does it? As long as she is in possession of the ball (ball not touching ground or base) runner is out!

Yes, essentially. If the fielder has the ball trapped between her bare hand and the bag, then that's an out, too. If she has her hand over the ball on the ground, I probably won't judge that she has control until she lifts it up, and she has to do so before the runner gets there.
Either way, the OP is definitely an out.

One ump said safe, One ump said out.
The 4 different answers I'm talking about are the explanations I got through out the day:
One was about as long as you maintain possesion you can even touch it with your nose.
The other ump said it had to be either foot or the ball in hand/glove that touched the base.
I talked with the 2 different umps in our 2nd game, one said to post it on heybucket and the other said he would make a call and get back to me.
after 5 minutes the Final call was safe, because the runner beat the ball. ( Took them 5 minutes to come up with that) lol
