The Top Teams in this years 14U Final Rankings will be determined by your Team Qualifying for ASA Nationals

If a team is not able to qualify in their state qualifiers for whatever reason (Bad Luck, calls, illness/injuries on a given weekend) but has proven that they can beat a team that qualified by going to another state and earning their qualifier, or by being in the right place at the right time, does that make them less of team?

Is qualifying for nationals really the accepted standard of whose the best.

Why is the state tournament not used to identify the ranking in the state?

I tend to agree with 'itsnotsoft', that who's playing on top of their game, along with some luck at the right time, can earn you an ASA berth. The best team does not always win.

It hardly seems right to rank an Arizona team higher in the rankings if they got their birth in an out of state qualifier at a so called "easier" tournament. How would that make them a better Arizona team? It wouldn't.

The better teams become obvious, as they are always there in the semifinal and championship games. Let the results decide who is the best.

By the way, "Do these rankings mean anything at all?"

Az Bomber- By the way, "Do these rankings mean anything at all?"

These rankings have no offical meaning. Politico observes, gathers information and posts his opinions of the rankings based on the information he has. Judging by the over 3000 views of this thread, it has the interest of alot of people. Right or wrong, Politico presents his opinions/rankings and the supporting evidence that they were based upon. At the very least his rankings serve to give credit where credit is due (to all of the teams working hard and playing this great game). It also promotes discussion/debate of the subject of which teams are playing the best SB and the time of the rankings. I appreciate the work put into the rankings and the opinions of Politico................... He is off on his opinion/rankings a bit :o but appreciated just the same :) .
