USC Softball ?

As much as SoCal backs USC sports, the University of Southern California should be ashamed it does not and will not support a softball program. It may take many years but a buckethead movement to get a softball team at USC needs to begin here. How about some email addresses to the Athletic Director and Board members so we can get a movement going. My daughter may not play there but maybe by the time an 8U starts looking they would have come to their senses.

I've often wondered myself why they don't have a softball program, can anyone shed light on why that is?

Can they afford it after paying the football players so much.Did Bush ever say how much he was paid?I think he took a paycut when he went pro.

Why in the blue hell does anybody give a crap that USC has a softball team or not? What about Ivy League teams that have softball teams, but offer no scholarships?
I guess some brainions come on here thinking that these schools have an infinite amount of scholarship money....they don't. Running a softball team at USC would take money from ALL of the other athletic programs at USC....and lots of it.
The scholarships run about a half a million.....$150,000 for coaches.....$50,000 for uniforms, equipment.....$100,000 for travel.....and about 5 million for a stadium. All of that comes from the athletic department.
It will never happen....I wouldn't do it.

The Ivy leagues is consistent. They offer no athletic aid in ANY sports. So every athlete you see play for an Ivy league school REALLY is there for the education.

Exactly my point....it makes as much sense to argue that as it does to argue about USC's decision not to field a softball team.
