What's the correct call

This happen in a PGF Qualifier in Stockton. The home team was losing 5 to 2 going into the bottom of the 7th.
no outs runners on 1st and 2nd ground ball hit to the 3rd baseman she touches 3rd than throws to 1st, short hop off of 1st into the dugout. Umpires ruling was girl on 2nd out with the touch of 3rd, girl on first scores because she was rounding 2nd when ball went into dugout, batter goes to second. Was this the correct call. To note the 3rd baseman did have time to throw girl out going to second but chose to throw to first. Also after a 5 minute or so augment home team comes back and wins. YOU MAKE THE CALL

It's 2 bases from the time the ball left F5's hand, not when the ball left live ball area (e.g. into dugout).

That's how our coach saw it but the umps saw it a different way. Can't blame the loss on the blues it just would be nice if they let the girls decide who wins and who loses

Should have filed a protest based upon the ruling of 2 bases when ball went out of play vs 2 bases when ball was released from players hand.
