What's on your mind?

by CountryBumpkin » Thu Aug 22, 2013 11:18 pm

What is the average price for a skills video? From filming it to editing it to uploading it to a site like Vimeo?
Enjoying this crazy ride.

The going rate seems to be about $200, but it varies with quality

Do it yourself. No need to pay the funds. You don't need fancy editing and music that someone will try and sell you.

Dont do it yourself... you can tell the difference from the "home made" videos.

A good production will use several camera angles and maybe even do a bit of pause frame or slow motion. I agree with not needing music or those other cheesy components but a well done video is worth the money.

"JMO" and others, including some Travel Ball Organizations used to do them for players for relatively cheap, good quality and with good editing. It's usually worth to see someone who is experienced puting the video together, who has had good results. $200-$250 seems a little pricey but I guess everyone is trying to make a buck.

We never did a skills video for my daughter but she played on a good travel ball team, we got Cathi Aradi's book, wrote a lot of letters and passed out a lot of player profile sheets of her whenever we saw a college coach walking around. DD is starting her Senior year of college .... so I guess it worked for us!
