Hello folks.

I am in the market in buying a suitcase style generator and would really like your feedback. I am getting ready for the Texas heat and since my dd made the 8u all-star team. So investing in a generator would be a great investment.

These are the 3 model I am looking at

Ryobie 2,200

Generac ix2000

Honda EU2000i

Get the Honda EU2000. Forget the rest. In generators, you get what you pay for. Honda purrs like a kitten and runs forever.

The Honda will be very quiet and reliable. I have the eu3000, and it is quieter than most of the smaller generators around.

Note that the 2000 will run fans and such, but no ac units that I'm aware of.

Also, keep a strong lock and cable on it at all times. Those expensive little buggers have a habit of walking away if you turn your back.

Generally for fans, a little tv and camping trip that we will be taking later on. This will be my first Generator so any advice on keeping it secure. I was thinking chaining it to tree or my hitch. Thanks.

I concur with the Honda generator. It is expensive but IMO worth the extra.

For the sake of your lungs do not buy a cheap no name generator. Nothing worse than a smoking, oil burning, noisy, generator setting beside you. Your neighbors at the park will thank you also.

Cable and chain are good. One other security issue. Get the steel 'sleeve' they make for the handle.

Otherwise, the douche thief will bolt-cutter or sawzall the handle, slip off your expensive chain, and run off with that bad boy.

Honda...They make one smaller, like a 1K... and it will run a fan etc....A 2000 will run several fans...

The EU2000i Companion runs @ $100 more, but if you camp, etc with groups, you can run it in parallel with a 2nd one. maybe overkill for what you want, but it gives you added flexibility and options.
