Anyone have any scores from todays 16U Surf City Classic??

That's the second time you complained about a 14U playing 16U. You were never on a team that played up? I don't know actual scores but like I said earlier the stronger 14u teams did very well where we were at.

Just like the top 16U teams are able to stack up against most of the 18U teams.

Actually, I KNOW the stronger 14u teams will beat up MOST of the 16u teams. They are flat out great teams. I just think that they should add a 14u division. There are so many teams playing up that I think it would be a great addition!!!

It's about the exposure nobody wins at a showcase it's all about playing to the best of your ability in front of those scouts which I was very surprised to see at satellite field especially watching these 14U teams play. I overheard one of the scouts answer a question what age are you here to see she replied " 9th and 10th graders" so I guess it's not too early to be out there being a 14U team and you learn what it's like to be at a showcase.

We are 16u and played in 18u we did great....our scores were

TS vs Wicked 11-2
TS vs Diamond girls 7-1
TS vs OC Cats 11-0
TS vs Sudden Impact 7-0

That's not a big statement. Most 18 Gold teams aren't all that good. The top of the pyramid is very small. The 16U teams often end up facing teams that will not be at Gold nationals and in most cases, will not make it out of Gold Classification.

My DD's team played in Fullerton on a off site field. We had 2 college's scouting. Both stayed for 2 plus hours watching 2 of our games each. One scout on Saturday and one on Sunday. Our coach was able to have in depth conversations between games with the scouts. Lots of questions regarding the profiles and positions, lots of note taking, etc... Scores are not the object, exposure is the goal. I give a lot of credit to the girls for writing the letters and sending the e-mails and the coaching staff for the contacts, open dialog between games and really moving the girls around to showcase their talent.
This was the most focused exposure for our team thus far. We been to all of the Surf City showcases and one of the AFC Showcases.

That's not a big statement. Most 18 Gold teams aren't all that good. The top of the pyramid is very small. See skoshee's post above. They played a bunch of teams that will not be at Gold nationals and in most cases, will not make it out of Gold Classification.

So at these showcases they put all the good teams togeather and all the- not so good/not made a name for yourself yet - teams togeather? Its not done by a draw?
