How to get more energy into showcase?

Well, how do you get more energy into a showcase? Is there less excitement at showcases?
My one suggestion would be for those who put on these showcases to show results of games.
Games are still at set times so that scouts may adhere to a shopping schedule. However with the general knowledge that results will be posted may motivate coaches and players to produce more.
Just a thought,,, can showcases be improved to a more competitive level while maintaining the integrity of showcasing.

Some showcases are set up to be competitive- The Tradition Showcase in Ct and I believe so is the Pennsbury in Pennsylvania. Set games (fri-sat) which act as pool- Sunday(when most college scouts have already left) they do a bracket- Usually with several tiers- Gold, Silver etc

Most teams- at least at the Tradition, seem to treat it more like a regular tournament(that just happens to have college coaches)- I am not sure if it gave as much potential exposure as a regular showcase(ie Devens, MA)

I do like the concept of showcase pool play, and a blind draw bracket play. Perhaps even pay a little extra for the bracket play Sun.. That way teams may choose, travel home or play on a Sunday afternoon.mmmmm

So true. My DD would kill someone if she lost! I think Trophy is on to something.

Rather than play round-robin, play mini-brackets, where winners play winners and losers play losers, the way a lot of the HS tournaments are run. There is nothing "real" at stake, but it would sort of quasi simulate tournament play, and no players like to see their team riding down the back side of those brackets, so there would be some additional incentive there.

Sure, some ass hat coaches will play their starters all weekend trying to "win" but on Monday morning we can all come on here and ridicule them, their bench players will leave, and no one will play for them next season!

The other fix,,,, 1hr 30min Fri. and Saturdays. Sunday 7 innings. Kinda like real fastpitch.
