Forging an ASA Roster.............

From TX ASA 14-u Hall of Fame in Ft Worth this week end

What is the appropriate punishment (I might be a bit harsh)
What is the official punishment

~ If it is PROVEN that a certian team or coach or organization (that shall remain nameless.) actually did forge a parents signature onto their teams official "redlined" roster in an attempt to have that CHILD removed from her real team for the tournament (and the rest of ASA Summer Softball)....

Did the girl play for the team that forged the signature? Or was she unable to play for her real team because her name was on the forged roster (she was on two rosters?)

This seems fairly simple to prove... ask her parents if they signed the roster.

My undrstanding was that she played for them in the Ronald Mcdonald. she was injured and did not return 10-2007
after HS ball joined a new team
Again just what was told
Parents did not sign...
i am not saying it did or didnt you draw your own conclusion

I am curious as to the ramifications against a coach,parent. orginization for these or similar actions

A championship roster from 2007 is non binding. Ronald McDonald is played during the non championship season. Does not matter if it was signed or not. Championship play for 2008 begins in May of 2008, rosters are signed by players, parents, coaches and ASA JO at this time. If player signed two rosters and is under 18 years of age, both are non binding. Parents must sign for it to be binding. Players and parents can also change thier mind and play for a new team so long as this change is made prior to player actually playing with the first team she signed for. The ASA JO will add her to new roster and call TB coach to delete from his roster.

If a player does not want to play for you...say goodbye!

I could be wrong, but I the OP intimated that the 2007 coach may have forged the parents' signature on a 2008 Championship Roster and the kid wasn't allowed to play for the team that she left them for because her name was redlined on the old team's Championship Roster.

I think the case should be investigated to find out what really happened. Both sides need to tell their stories.

No punishment needed. I've done the same thing in 10U.
