What's your average out of pocket tournament weekend cost.

Kind of in line with the Gas post how much do you spend on average in a weekend during a tournament. I can easily run through about $100-$150. Between the concession stand, t-shirts, ice, new sunblock because we left the one from last weekend on the table, lunch, dinner, taco bell at 11:00pm on the hour long drive home to be back at 7:00am etc.... and we are experianced and pack lunches to avoid the concession stands

Our typical tournament is going to be 150 miles one way, so 300 + 20 miles or so, around 80 for gas, then hotel, around 130 for one night, snacks/sodas and shirts 35 , tournament fees 35, I dont count food since we eat at home or we eat when we travel. Around 300 or so a weekend, but before we did this , we were spending our weekends out on the island in the motorhome. Probably a little cheaper before, and fun too.

OK this was our first big away tourney. 1st time TB'ers but have experience traveling with Rec Allstars. We spent almost as much on gas (We drive fullsize SUV) going to Fresno as we did on hotel (with a team discount). About $200 for each item room and gas. Food is hard to determine since we also pack lunches, drinks, wine, snacks etc... Prolly about $100 on eating out for 4 on 3 different meals (El Pollo, Sonic, team picnic) thankfully the hotel we stayed at provided breakfast. So as far as major costs it ran us about $500 this weekend, that's on the low side. With the economy the way it is, it really is getting tougher and tougher to keep this types of extra curricular activities in our budget.

We have a National Qualifier in Columbus, Georgia this weekend. 3hour drive and 2 nights Hotel stay. I'm expecting to spend $100.00 for gas, $300.00 for Hotel, $150.00 for meals and $35.00 for DW's gate fees. We are packing our lunches for the tourny and full coolers for drinks.
I agree with previous post that the economy is making these expenses prohbitive for a lot of people.
Unless things improve quickly, you might see a lot of TB players back in your local rec league due to the costs. Could be good for All Star teams I guess.

If we stay local we can usually do a weekend for less than $100 for the weekend. (gas, normally 1 meal out, shirts) Our team tries to do a team lunch atleast 1 day of the weekend.

Out of town around the metroplex or Houston area is around $500 for the weekend maybe a little less for 2 days. On average $220 for rooms with team discount, shirts, gas, food.

I would estimate about $200 a weekend ($50 gas; $75 meals/concessions; $35 tournament fee; $20 tshirt; $25 miscellaneous "stuff") and an additional $90-125 a night hotel when you have to stay over night. We purposefully don't "add it up" because we really don't want to know the annual cost. But, I'm sure that "scholarship" will make up the difference.

Well, this weekend it's just my DD and me (and a friend of hers going along for the trip), so, about $40 in gas, $65 for one night stay (we're leaving early tomorrow morning), figure 5 meals, so.....I dunno, $100 total for food and drinks, whatever it costs to get into the tournament...

Somewhere between $200 and $250 probably. Obviously higher if my lovely wife, 9 year old son, and 2 year old DD go also, or if we have to stay 2 nights.
