Who is going to 18U ASA Nationals - California

What's on your mind?

by softballtaxi » Mon Jul 12, 2010 2:41 pm

Just curious; if you have earned a bid to Nationals are you going? And where are you from? Just trying to get a feel for what states are going to pay to go to California; considering this economy (California aint cheap). And how much would you budget for flights, car, hotel, meals, entrance? I am guessing around $4,000 for a family of four. I hear a lot of teams just can't afford it.

1600 flight
300 car
1500 hotel
500-700 food

Coming from Florida, spending 500.00 per ticket, 500.00 for room, 250.00 for car, figure 350.00 for food--thats 2100.00 for me and DD...

Actually, I am sorry for being a smart ass. I do feel for people coming from other parts of the country. I dont kow if everyone knows this, but, Californians, when they go to Geogia, Texas, Oklahoma, etc, don't pay a dime!! Airplane tickets....free!! Hotel....free!!! Food....free!! In fact, the only thing Californians pay for when they go east for Nationals is rain gear!! You know, cause we dont think of bringing rain gear IN THE MIDDLE OF SUMMER!!

so you think this is funny - not all of us are supported by Hollywood and Obama - I was asking a serious question. And not to imply that California didn't have to travel to Nat'l in the past, they were in LasVegas last year too. So two years in a row of driving distance for the West. I am curious how much people would budget and with this economy how many would choose to stay at their Northern, East, West, Southern, Nationals instead.

I am glad I made your day.

For the record, I was laughing WITH you, not AT you!! You have to forgive me. Because of all the money I am spending on DD's traveling, I've had to cut some minor necessities. Who needs food anyway?....?....?....?
