You are definitely one of a kind. It seems like are intent on being mad about father's that coach no matter what. How about we pass a few new rules:

How about, in order to coach, you gotta be a Eunuch?

How about we say no immediate family members in the coaching community? Say 2nd cousin is as close as you can get?

How about if you see a kid make an error and she is from the same continent as the coach, she must be immediately cut from the team?

How about you just relax, let the kids play, and watach a game that can be enjoyable to you if you let it?

This is one of those topics that probably goes back to biblical times and will be discussed when George Jetson is coaching Judy in 2529.

My daughter is at the field 20-30 minutes early for each practice. She leaves 20-30 minutes late after each practice. She helps me rake and line the field during game days. We go up during non-team times and she sweeps the dugouts, picks up trash, and any thing else that needs done.

Often times people who scream daddyball don't think about those types of things. They drag in as practice starts, they leave when it ends, and never take time out to thank the coaches or offer to carry a bucket to the car.

So, for all you coaches who invest in the lives of kids and make it a positive experience - Thanks!

Daddyball will end when parents and players are tired of giving their time and money only to play less than they merit and lose more than they should. It's a free market and Adam Smith says these types of organizations will fail over time.

When will accusations of Daddyball end? Based on this thread and many, many others, probably never.

I'd probably fit a certain type of parents definition of a daddyball coach, I give DD more time at key positions and batting order preference. I don't do this because I think she's the best player (she's among my best players but not the best) but because I spend so much time practicing with her that I know what I'll get out of her and how to correct any bad habits she picks up.

I just recently started giving another kid on my team more time at those positions and moving her up in the order and found myself asking why I didn't to so sooner. It's probably because she always plays and bats wherever I put her with a great attitude and her parents are equally positive and supportive. Her mother or father would never start and feed a thread like this.

I smell potty training trama, a recent divorce, a shreking harpy, an utterly talentless child and possibly a substance issue. GGGGGGGGGod you guys are too much, why are you guys/gals patronizing this drivel. I have barely kept an eye on this sorry one woman pity party (screaming) but obviously everyone has walked (or ran) away from this bitter ballbuster and this is the last forum that will listen to this insane BS, and resond with measured and thougthtful attentiveness. After you have written the practice schedule, stood in the baking sun, lugged the teams gear, brought home the equipment, you tireless, dedicated, self-sacrificing, coaches trying to gently hold FPINFO's hand and coax her down off the ledge. I say let her jump. Please if her kid is on your team cut her, cut her now. No matter the tirad that insues, please coach (I know you know who you are) for the love of God take one for the team. Perhaps this done the rest of us won't have to be subjected to this blathering a%$hole.

"daddy & mommy ball" has been an unfortunate part of youth sports forever. Heck even Buttermaker pitched his step-daughter in The Bad News Bears.

But the real question is: Was she the best pitcher on that team?

Is there spell check on this site? Sometimes, I am trying to understand what someone is saying, but when I have to guess at the words, it changes the meaning all together.

Oh, I see it underlines the words. Then, how do people find out how to spell the word they are having trouble with? In e-mails (AOL) I am given a list of words to choose from.

FPINFO you need to shut up!! If your kid was that good, she would play, we do not coach, and my kid only sat last year when she was hurt! (of course with 2 surgeries she's been out all of this year but, they still kept her on the roster). If you are on a team that your kid plays the same position as the coaches kid, thats your fault for not doing your homework before going to that team. Anyone (with any common sense) would not put their kid on a team where they are competing for the same position with the coaches daughter, with the exception of pitching, every team needs and uses more than one pitcher (usually 3-4). And if the coaches daughter did not play that position when you started and they have put her there after watching your daughter play (hmmm) then that should answer any questions you have. YOU OBVIOUSLY NEED A TRAVEL BALL EDUCATION! PLEASE OPEN YOUR EYES, OR TAKE OFF THE MOMMY/DADDY GLASSES! Now you've got me yelling. WOW
